Debt Balance Validation

A debt balance must meet certain conditions to be valid.

A debt balance is created only when all the following conditions are met:
  • A debt balance template is a simple, postpaid, actual currency balance, and cannot be a main balance. For more information, see the discussion about configuring balance template general properties in My MATRIXX Help.
  • All debt balance thresholds must be set to Locked in My MATRIXX. For more information, see the discussion about configuring balance template thresholds in My MATRIXX Help.
  • A debt balance template has an unlimited credit limit. For more information, see the discussion about credit limits.
  • Debt balance type is fee, purchase, or recurring:
    • Fee debt balance has a write-off policy of none, cycle, or expired.
    • Purchase debt balance has a write-off policy of none, specific time (including the time value), or expired.
    • Recurring debt balance has a write-off policy of none, cycle, or expired.
  • For a catalog item:
    • The debt balance is specific to the purchased catalog item. The offers or bundles within the catalog item must have the same debt balance type, and there will be one instance for each debt balance type for the catalog item.
    • The catalog item must have an expiration date (validity period) if there is a debt balance.
  • For a product offer:
    • If an offer specifies a debt balance, you can use the offer status definition to define the debt grace period and optionally charge a grace fee. You specify the duration of the debt grace period in the status definition. To apply a fee debt balance when transitioning to another status, use the status action MtxStatusActionFeeCharge, and set the fee amount in the status transition in the offer life cycle profile. For more information, see the discussions about offer life cycle profiles and offer transition actions in My MATRIXX Help.
    • If an offer within a bundle has a particular type of debt balance, the bundle must include the same type of debt balance.
Note: The bundle can specify a different balance template than that of the offers it contains, and can include additional debt balance types.
