Policies

Policies provide the business logic for real-time policy decisions and rules, allowing you to track subscribers' service usage in real-time and change the behavior of a service based on that usage (for example, by throttling bandwidth).

In My MATRIXX, you can define Gx policies and Sy policies.

Gx policies contain the criteria that determine the PCC rules that are returned to one or more PCEFs in response to a CCR or when there is a subscriber status change. Sy policies determine the policy counter name/status pairs that are returned to a PCRF.

Dynamic PCC rules are constructed by applying Gx policy components that use normalizers on data to select policy profiles to generate and publish the PCC rules. If the selected Gx policy component basis is Rx Media Subcomponent, application usage data is gathered from the external application function (AF) to construct the Gx dynamic PCC and QoS rules to apply to that usage.
