commitment period

A specific period of time from the start of a service contract to a certain point within the term of the contract. For example, a 24-month contract can have a 12-month commitment period. Different charges and early termination fees might apply within and outside the commitment period. The commitment period can be specified in the contract (pricing) object or can be overridden at purchase time in the purchase API.
