Modifying a Purchased Item Cycle Alignment

You can modify a purchased-item cycle alignment if the target purchased item cycle is not a master cycle for another purchased item, it is not a pending master cycle, and the target purchased item is not aligned to a billing cycle that has a pending period termination. Note that you cannot align a purchased item to a purchased item that is aligned to another purchased item cycle.

If a purchased item cycle is modified to be aligned to another cycle, the new master cycle must have the same period type and interval, or the modification will fail.

A purchased item cycle that is already aligned to another cycle can be modified in the following ways:
  • It can be configured to be independent.

A purchased item cycle that is modified to become independent is unlinked from the master purchased item cycle. The cycle itself does not change as a result.

  • It can become independent by changing its CycleOffset.
  • It can be aligned to a different master cycle.

When a purchased item cycle is initially aligned to a master cycle or is aligned to a new master cycle, its current purchased item cycle period takes the end time of the new master cycle period. For example, if you modify a purchased item that currently has a cycle that ends at midnight on the 15th of the month and you align it to a new purchased item cycle that has a cycle that ends at midnight on the 30th of the month, both purchased item cycles now end at midnight on the 30th of the month.

When you modify the purchased item cycle alignment, you can make the modification occur immediately or the modification can be deferred.

If you modify the purchased item CycleData and the OfferStatusValue using the OfferModify SubMan APIs, OfferStatusValue is modified before CycleData.
