Bundle Usage Rating

The usage rating process is the same for individual product offers and bundles.

The highest priority non-supplemental offer that can be applied, purchased individually or as part of a bundle, is used in addition to every supplemental offer that can be applied. All product offers, including all product offers in a bundle, are evaluated for rating and policy decisions. Applied offers can be different from the offers in the bundles. For example, a subscriber can purchase Product Offer A version 0 individually and Product Offer A version 1 as part of a bundle. During rating, Product Offer A version 1 might be applied. In addition, the set of applied offers does not have to include all offers in a bundle.

During recurring and first-use processing, the charge and grant components in all available offers are evaluated and the components that are triggered by the cycle or balance are applied to the G/L balance.

During purchase or cancelation, all charge and grant components within all product offers in a bundle are applied. A purchase or cancelation will fail if any of the charges in any of the offers cannot be paid. Purchase and cancelation discounts within any of the offers in a bundle apply to all the purchase or cancelation charges within a bundle.

Bundles can change the rating results of product offers within the bundle by directly referencing pricing components. These directly-referenced pricing components override or supplement the charges, discounts, or grants of one of the product offers within the bundle. This allows product offers to be created without having to consider if they will be included in a bundle. For more information about bundle pricing components, see the related topic about bundle components.

Asset balance rollovers are the same for product offers and bundles. All available non-supplemental product offers are evaluated in order of priority until an applicable rollover component is found. For more information about asset balance rollover, see the related topic about discussion about configuring balance rollovers in My MATRIXX Help.

Policy profile selection for bundles is identical to that of individual product offers. Non-supplemental offers are evaluated in order of offer priority until one is found with an applicable policy component.
Note: Supplemental offers are not used in policy profile selection.
