Bundle Components
Within a bundle, you can associate additional price components with a product offer that are not part of the product offer definition. These bundle-specific price components (bundle components) can replace or supplement the price components already in the offer.
- An override component is applied instead of the original offer price component.
- A supplemental price component is applied in addition to the offer price components.
Adding bundle components allows you to change the rating results of product offers within that bundle so that product offers do not have to be designed based on whether they are included in a bundle.
Override Bundle Components
You specify a price component as an override bundle component by checking the Override box in My MATRIXX when you add the bundle component. If a bundle includes override price components for an offer, the bundle override price components are applied instead of offer components. However, if the override component cannot be applied, the MATRIXX Engine still attempts to apply the original offer component.
- If a bundle includes an override component for a product offer, it is applied even if the offer does not include a pricing component for the bundle component type and application.
- For first-use components, a bundle cannot have multiple override components of the same type, application, and balance for the same offer. For first-use components, the balance is the balance whose first use triggers the component, not the balance impacted.
- A bundle cannot have multiple
override price components of the same type and application for the same
offer.
For example, a bundle cannot apply two purchase charges to the same product offer.
- For recurring components, a bundle
cannot have multiple override price components of the same type,
application, and cycle for the same offer. A bundle can include multiple
override components for the same offer if they are for different cycles.
For example, a bundle cannot apply two billing cycle recurring charges to the same product offer.
- For first-use of a balance, a bundle cannot have
multiple override price components of the same type, application, and
balance for the same offer.
For example, a bundle cannot have two first-use discounts applied to the same balance.
- If a bundle includes a one-time offer, any override bundle components added to that offer must be purchase components.
- For product offer purchases and auto-renewal, bundles can override price components (charge, grant, discount) but not balance-state update components.

Understanding Supplemental Bundle Components
If bundle components are not specified as override price components, they act as supplemental price components. Supplemental price components are applied in addition to the price components in the product offer. For example, if a product offer in a bundle includes a first-use grant of 10 minutes for a balance and the bundle includes a supplemental first-use grant of 10 minutes applied to that same balance and offer, the subscriber receives a first use grant of 20 minutes when that offer is selected for rating.
If a bundle includes supplemental price components and override price components of the same type and application, then these components supplement the override price component. For example, a bundle includes a recurring charge override bundle component of 5 dollars and a recurring charge supplemental bundle component of 5 dollars, the total recurring charge is 10 dollars even if the product offer does not include a recurring charge pricing component.
