Create an Announcement Prompt Collect

Create an announcement prompt collect to define parameters for interrupting announcements and for collecting digits from the subscriber.

Procedure

  1. In Announcements, on the Prompt Collects tab, click New Prompt Collect.
  2. In Create New Prompt Collect:
    1. In Name, enter a unique name.
    2. (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about the item.
    3. (Optional) In External ID, enter any alphanumeric character to serve as a unique ID on this pricing object. The external ID can be used for any reason that is meaningful to your implementation of MATRIXX Engine. External IDs are saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing database.
    4. Click Create.
  3. In Min Digit Count, specify the minimum number of digits to collect. Specify a value between one and 30. By default, one digit is collected.
  4. In Max Digit Count, specify the maximum number of digits that can be collected. Specify a value between one and 30.
  5. (Optional) In End of Reply Digit, enter a maximum of two digits to use to indicate the end of user input.
    Digits can be in the range 0 to 9, *, and #.
  6. (Optional) In Cancel Digit, enter a maximum of two digits to use to indicate that the user wants to cancel collection of the entered digits and try again.
    Digits can be in the range 0 to 9, *, and #.
  7. In Start Digit, enter the digits to use to indicate the start of valid input. Other digits received before the start digits are discarded as invalid.
    Digits can be in the range 0 to 9, *, and #.
  8. (Optional) In First Digit Timeout In Seconds, enter the maximum waiting period, in the range 1 to 127, for the first digit.
  9. (Optional) In Inter-Digit Timeout In Seconds, enter the maximum time allowed, in the range 1 to 127, between each successful valid or invalid digit.
  10. In Error Treatment, select the action to take in case of error.
    Select one of:
    • 0 = stdErrorAndInfo
    • 1 = help
    • 2 = repeatPrompt
  11. To disallow the subscriber from interrupting the announcements before all the announcements have completed playing, unselect the Interruptable Announcement check box.
    By default, the Interruptable Announcement check box is selected and subscribers can interrupt the announcements by entering digits, before all the announcements have completed.
  12. Select the Use Voice Recognition check box to give the subscriber user information by speech.
    By default, Use Voice Recognition is not selected, and user information must be provided by DTMF (dual tone multi-frequency).
  13. Select the Announce Back Digits Entered check box if you want the SRF, or gsmSRF, to announce the valid digits back to the user immediately after the end of input is received.
    By default, Announce Back Digits is not selected and valid digits are not announced back to the user.
  14. Click Save.
