Data Modify
You use the data modify interface to configure data modify actions, data modify profiles, and data modify profile selectors.
A data modify action (DMA) defines how to manipulate a MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) or virtual field value before or after a message has been processed by rating or a field value in a temporary workspace MDC created during rating. You can use data modify actions as an alternative method to selective updates or normalizer chaining for manipulating field values. For more information about normalizer chaining replacement, see the discussion about using data modify to replace normalizer chaining in MATRIXX Pricing and Rating.
After creating a data modify action, you can add it to data modify profiles. You can also add data modify actions to PreRating and PostRating profiles. For information about PreRating profiles, see the discussion about PreRating. For information about PostRating profiles, see the discussion about PostRating.
A data modify profile selector uses decision tables to select a data modify profile and apply a list of data modify actions.
