General Ledger Info
You can configure MATRIXX Charging Application to generate General Ledger (GL) information for inclusion in an Event Detail Record (EDR).
You can generate GL information for each charge record that is for a currency balance impact to an actual currency balance and for impacts to assets designated as liability assets. For the list of applicable events, see the discussions about event types for balance impacts and event types for balance impacts to liability assets in MATRIXX Integration.

For more information about these GL components, see the discussion about configuring GL records in MATRIXX Integration.
- In the balance template, if the balance is an
asset balance, you can select Liability Asset to
specify that the revenue recognition type is consumption-based. Note: Pseudo-currency balances are treated like assets when generating GL information in EDRs. Similar to balances defined as assets, pseudo-currencies can be defined as liability or non-liability assets, which affects the revenue recognition type for charges that purchase pseudo-currencies; a purchase charge which buys an asset is consumption-based if the asset is a liability asset, or per-day if the asset is not a liability asset.
For more information about liability assets and revenue recognition, see MATRIXX Integration.
- In a product offer revision, select Use Immediate Revenue
Recognition to force all currency balance impacts from that
offer to have immediate revenue recognition. When deselected, the Charging Server determines the type of revenue recognition for each impact on currency
balances.
For information about specifying immediate revenue recognition, see the discussion about creating a product offer revision in My MATRIXX Help.
- In a subscription product offer, specify the Target Grant.
- In the tax class, you can specify
how the tax is to be posted in a GL. EDRs include the revenue recognition type in the GL information. The following tax class settings determine the revenue recognition type in the EDR.
- Always immediate — The revenue recognition type in the GL record for the tax is always set to immediate and is not impacted by the revenue recognition type set for the charge to which the tax is applied.
- Same as charge — The revenue recognition type in the GL record for the tax is the same as the charge to which the tax is applied (immediate, per-day, or consumption-based).
For more information about setting the tax class revenue recognition options, see the discussion about creating tax classes.
