Create a GL Transaction Profile Selector

A General Ledger (GL) transaction profile selector uses business rules in decision tables to select a specific GL transaction profile for a specific event.

Procedure

  1. In General Ledger Info, on the GL Transaction Profile Selectors tab, click New GL Transaction Profile Selector.
  2. Initially Name is empty, enter a unique value.
The name should identify a use case to associate with the GL transaction profile selector.
  3. (Optional) Initially Description is empty, enter descriptive information about the item.
  4. (Optional) Initially External ID is empty, enter any alphanumeric character to serve as a unique ID on this pricing object. The External ID can be used for any reason that is meaningful to your implementation of MATRIXX Engine. External IDs are saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing database.
  5. Click Create.
  6. In Start Date/Time, use the date picker to select the date on which the object becomes active in the Pricing database and is first available for use, or enter the date in the format YYYY-MM-DD. Optionally, enter a time for when the object becomes active. The default start date/time is 2000–01–01 00:00:00. If applicable, the range in which the start date/time must fall is listed. For example:
    • Select a date on or before 2021–12–01.
    • Select a date on or after 2020–01–27.
    • Select a date between 2000–01–02 and 2021–10–04.
Note: If you are creating a new revision of this object, the start date/time must be after the start date/time of the preceding revision and before the start date/time of the next revision. If you are making a copy of this object, the start date/time is not copied. The new object is the first revision, so it has the default start date/time of 2000–01–01 00:00:00.
  7. (Optional) Click New Table to add a new transaction profile decision table. Create New Table appears.
    1. Initially Name is empty, enter a unique value.
    2. (Optional) Initially Description is empty, enter descriptive information about the item.
    4. Click Create.
  8. (Optional) Change the Name, Description, or External ID of this item.
  9. Click a default GL transaction profile from the menu to use as a fallback if no other profile in the table is selected.
  10. Click Save.
  11. (Optional) Click Select Decision Table to add a pre-defined decision table to the GL transaction profile selector.
    1. Click the row of a decision table.
    2. Click Select.

    1. Navigate back to General Ledger Info.
    2. Click an alternate GL transaction profile from the Consumption Transaction Profile menu.
  16. Click Save.
