Charging Configuration
Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
General Configuration
General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
General Ledger Info
You can configure MATRIXX Charging Application to generate General Ledger (GL) information for inclusion in an _glossary/edr.html.
GL Account Selectors
General Ledger (GL) account selectors accept a GL transaction profile as input, and use decision tables that you create to apply the profile parameters to specific subscriber accounts.
Import Account Selectors
Import account selectors from a CSV file to populate the My MATRIXX General Ledger (GL) Account Selectors table in GL Info.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

  The following information describes the tasks that can be performed using the My MATRIXX Home menu.
- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.

  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
  - Balance Configuration
    Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.
  - Pricing Configuration
    Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.

    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
    - Announcements
      MATRIXX Engine uses announcement data for determining the list of announcements to play to a subscriber during a voice call, and the language they must be played in. Configure announcement data to be dynamic, so a different result occurs based on conditions that are valid at the time of rating.
    - Attributes
      System attributes and product attributes are properties you can add to certain pricing objects that can be used to influence rating operations and provide information to downstream systems, such as General Ledger accounting systems.
    - Data Modify
      You use the data modify interface to configure data modify actions, data modify profiles, and data modify profile selectors.
    - Denial Codes
      Denial codes are a way to deny service access to subscribers for a specific reason. You define them in My MATRIXX and add them to rate table rows in place of a rating formula, so the value is returned to the network based on the row selected during rating.
    - Final Unit Indication
      You can configure Diameter Final Unit Indication (FUI) information to be static or dynamic.
    - General Ledger Info
      You can configure MATRIXX Charging Application to generate General Ledger (GL) information for inclusion in an _glossary/edr.html.
      - GL Target Grant
        In a product offer, you can specify which grant component is purchased with the charges in the offer (during purchase, first-use, auto-renew, and recurring operations). This grant component is called the target grant.
      - GL Transaction Types
        A General Ledger (GL) transaction type is a name-value pair that consists of an integer value and a user-friendly description. They identify business transactions in GL transaction profiles.
      - GL Account Types
        A General Ledger (GL) account type is a name-value pair that consists of an integer value and a user-friendly description. A GL account type represents a category of GL accounts. For example: Revenue, Tax, and Prepaid Liability. GL account types are referenced in GL transaction profiles. They allow pricing administrators to define generic GL transaction profiles without having to know in advance what actual GL account is for use in a business transaction. For each of the accounts you use in GL records, you must create account types.
      - GL Account Selectors
        General Ledger (GL) account selectors accept a GL transaction profile as input, and use decision tables that you create to apply the profile parameters to specific subscriber accounts.
        Import Account Selectors
        Import account selectors from a CSV file to populate the My MATRIXX General Ledger (GL) Account Selectors table in GL Info.
        Export Account Selectors
        Export individual account selectors or all account selectors that use the same decision table to a CSV file.
        Create a GL Account Selector
        You must create one General Ledger (GL) account selector for each GL account type and add business logic to the decision tables to select GL accounts to affect.
        Change a GL Account Selector
        You can change the details of a General Ledger (GL) account selector.
        Delete a GL Account Selector
        Deleting a General Ledger (GL) account selector removes it from use by the MATRIXX Charging Server.
        Create a GL Account Selectors Table
        A General Ledger (GL) account selectors table maps the rows of a decision table to a set of subscriber accounts in your MATRIXX environment.
        Delete a GL Account Selectors Table
        Deleting a General Ledger (GL) account selectors table removes it from the GL account selector that contains it and from the pricing plan.
      - GL Transaction Profiles
        A General Ledger (GL) transaction profile represents a repeatable business transaction used in your GL system. Each GL transaction profile includes an account to debit, an account to credit, a GL transaction type to identify the type of GL transaction, and any custom attributes to store with the transaction. You can use the custom attributes in decision tables to identify the specific subscriber accounts to affect. GL transaction profiles also contain a flag to indicate when it includes deferred revenue. Deferred revenue usually indicates consumption-based usage which requires time-based revenue recognition. Optionally you may include a breakage account to recognize any unearned deferred revenue.
      - GL Transaction Profile Selectors
        General Ledger (GL) transaction profile selectors contain business decision tables and normalizers that MATRIXX uses to select a specific GL transaction profile to use for rating.
      - GL Transaction Profile Selector Mappings
        You use General Ledger (GL) transaction profile selector mappings to associate balance update types to the GL transaction profiles you have created. Each balance type must have at least one mapping.

        The topics listed here explain the properties used by the General Ledger (GL) components.
      - Deprecated General Ledger Components
        The components in this section are deprecated and will be removed in a later release. They are listed here for backward compatibility.
    - Grace Period Profiles
      You use grace period profiles to configure the length of purchased item cycle grace period(s) that extends the period of time before a cycle goes into a recovery state.
    - Languages
      A language definition indicates that My MATRIXX supports that language.
    - Notifications
      In Notifications you create notification profiles and notification profile selectors that determine when and to which tenants notifications are sent.
    - Object State Update Profiles
      An object state update profile specifies how to extend, limit, or adjust the date/time value of the custom MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field of an offer owner (subscriber/group/device). Enable an object state update profile by selecting it when configuring an offer owner state update component. The decision table used in an offer owner state update component selects an object state update profile to use to update a custom field of an offer owner. An object state update profile can only be used in combination with an offer owner state update component. For more information, see the discussion about offer owner state update components.
    - Parameters
      You can configure definitions for parameters that you can use in pricing items such as catalog items, bundles, product offers, and price components.
    - PostRating
      MATRIXX Engine uses post-rating profiles and generators for determining a set of actions to apply to a message after it has been processed by rating. You configure post-rating to be dynamic, so a different result occurs based on conditions that are valid at the time of rating.
    - PreRating
      MATRIXX Engine uses pre-rating query data for determining when to perform a call out request for subscriber information to an external server or database. You configure pre-rating query data to be dynamic, so a different result occurs based on conditions that are valid at the time of rating.
    - Purge Profiles
      Purge profiles allow you to define retention periods for expired product offers per _glossary/catalog_item.html, _glossary/meter.html, or _glossary/balance.html.
    - SH Repository Data
      Sh repository data profiles allow you to send information between the Policy and Charging Rules Function (PCRF) and the Subscriber Profile Repository (SPR), where MATRIXX Engine is the SPR. The PCRF and SPR communicate by sending Subscription Notification Requests (SNR) and Subscription Notification Answers (SNA) back and forth over Sp. The Sh repository data returns to the PCRF in an SNA.
    - Usage Quota
      Usage quota components are pricing items that are used for selecting usage quota profiles based on conditions that are valid during rating. The usage quota profile defines authorization and quota management settings to be applied to online charging sessions (to authorize a request for quota for a given service and context type). The usage quota component defines the criteria for choosing a usage quota profile as a set of normalized values.
    - Usage Triggers
      Usage triggers activate network changes based on product offers and subscriber profile data. You apply usage triggers to product offers, which then apply to ongoing subscriber sessions.
    - Virtual Fields
      Use virtual fields to avoid creating multiple pricing configurations if your MATRIXX environment accepts multiple rating message types, for example, messages from Diameter and 5G networks.

    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Import Account Selectors

Import account selectors from a CSV file to populate the My MATRIXX General Ledger (GL) Account Selectors table in GL Info.

Before you begin

You must have created all normalizers represented in the CSV file in My MATRIXX before importing the account selectors.

About this task

The normalizers in the CSV file can have only one decision table defined in My MATRIXX.

Procedure

In GL Account Selectors, click and click Import GL Account Selectors.
In Import CSV File, click Choose File.
If the file has normalizer data for normalizers that do not exist in the pricing file, there are no columns with the GLAccountSelector attribute, or the format of the CSV import file is corrupt, in My MATRIXX, you may see the following error: An error occurred while processing your request.

Results

After the CSV file is processed:

A new decision table is created containing all the normalizer columns and their rows.
For each account selector column:
- If the account selector already exists, a new revision of that account selector is created; otherwise, a new account selector with the given name is created.
- A new account selector table is created for this account selector using the new decision table and the results specified in the account selector column.
