Transition Diagrams

A transition diagram is a flowchart of the different statuses and their transitions in a status life cycle or offer life cycle profile.

In a transition diagram, the default status is depicted within two circles with an arrow pointing to any status to which it can transition as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1. Transition Diagram with Default Status

Each status is represented as a circle. Valid transitions from one status to another are represented as unidirectional arrows. A label on an arrow indicates an action associated with that transition. For example, in Figure 1, during the transition from Active to Vacation, all offers are suspended.

To view a transition diagram for a specific object, click View Transition Diagram in the following locations depending on the object:
  • Status Life Cycles — in the object tabs (Device, Subscription, Group, User).
  • Offer Life Cycle Profiles — in the Status Definitions section of the Edit Offer Life Cycle Profile page.
Tip: Hover over the diagram and then click Zoom In to enlarge the diagram, or click Zoom Out to toggle to normal view. You can use the left/right arrow keys to move the diagram along the horizontal axis, or use the up/down arrow keys to move it along the vertical axis. Similarly, you can use the scroll bar along the bottom of the pane to view the hidden portions of the transition diagram. There may be a small delay before the transition diagram appears for larger domains with many status life cycle objects (that is, devices, subscriptions, groups, and users) or offer life cycle profiles.
