Change a Price Component

You can change a price component name, description, and application-specific properties. You can update the list of parameters assigned to a price component. You can add, remove, reorder, or change rate tables that are applied to it, and add or delete any applicable system attributes.

Procedure

  1. In Price Components, click the tab of the type of price component (Charges, Discounts, Grants, Refunds, or Forfeitures).
  2. Click the name of the price component to change.
  3. Make any of the following changes, as needed:
    • To change the name, description, or external ID, enter the new value.
    • (Usage price components only) To change the quantity type that determines whether the price component applies to the usage type during rating, change the quantity type in Quantity Selector, and click Save.
    • (Usage price components only) To specify the price component as a secondary beat usage charge, check the Is Secondary Beat Sequence box.
    • (Recurring price components only) To change the cycle type that determines when the price component is applied, change the cycle type in Cycle, and click Save.
    • (First-use and recurring price components only) To change the balance that triggers the price component to be applied, click Select Balance, select the balance, and click OK. Click Save.
    • (Grants only) To change the balance to which to apply the grant, in Target, select the applicable value from the list.
  4. (Optional) Update the list of parameters assigned to the price component.
    1. To add a parameter to the list, click Add Parameter, select the parameter from the list, and specify its default value.
    2. To change the default value for a parameter in the list, enter a new value in the Default Value cell for that parameter.
    3. To delete a parameter from the list, click Delete Icon next to the parameter that you want to delete, and click Yes to confirm the deletion.

  5. (Optional) Make changes to a rate tables:
    1. Create a new rate table. For details, see the discussion about creating a rate table.

    4. Delete a rate table. For details, see the discussion about deleting a rate table.
  6. (Optional) Make changes to decision tables:
    1. Create a decision table. For details, see the discussion about creating a decision table,
    2. Change a decision table. For details, see the discussion about changing a decision table.
    3. Delete a decision table. For details, see the discussion about deleting a decision table.
  7. (Optional) Make changes to system attributes:
    1. Create a system attribute. For details, see the discussion about creating a system attribute.
    2. Change a system attribute. For details, see the discussion about changing a system attribute value.
    3. Delete a system attribute. For details, see the discussion about deleting a system attribute.
  8. Click Save.
