Charging Configuration
Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
Pricing Configuration
Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.
Rate Tables
Charges, discounts, and grants are comprised of one or more rate tables that define how and when a charge, discount, or grant is applied during rating.
Delete a Rate Table
Deleting a rate table changes the price components that contain it. If the price component has been checked in to source control, you must correct the price component or create a revision to it.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

  The following information describes the tasks that can be performed using the My MATRIXX Home menu.
- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.

  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
  - Balance Configuration
    Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.
  - Pricing Configuration
    Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.

      Use the topics in this section to help you plan, configure, and manage your pricing plans.
    - Contracts
      A contract defines either a finance contract or a service contract. A finance contract defines the terms and conditions of a contract. A service contract defines the terms and charges for a service, for example, voice or data.
    - Decision Tables
      Decision tables consist of a number of _glossary/normalizer.html columns that define a set of business logic (one or more condition sets) that can be reused in different circumstances. Decision tables can be combined with a set of results into any type of component table, such as a policy table, rollover table, rate table, _glossary/gl_transaction_type.html table and account table, filter, or priority generator.
    - ETC Schedules
      Create an early termination charge (ETC) schedule that defines the range units and upper boundary of the range.
    - Filters
      Filters are independent, reusable, pricing items that can be associated with balances, meters, subscription product offers, and notifications.
    - Payment Schedules
      You can create payment schedules consisting of different installment payments for different time periods of a service contract term. Optionally, specify a final payment to be applied in the last period of the contract cycle.
    - Price Components
      MATRIXX price components are reusable pricing items that can be included in any number of product offers. They include charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures.
    - Rate Tags
      Rate tags are reusable pricing objects that you can set on rating formulas. MATRIXX Engine identifies charges that use rating formulas associated with the same rate tag and groups them together in the _glossary/edr.html it generates. An operator may use rate tags, for example, to separate charges for calling premium-rate numbers from charges for calling standard-rate numbers in the EDR.
    - Rate Tables
      Charges, discounts, and grants are comprised of one or more rate tables that define how and when a charge, discount, or grant is applied during rating.
      - Rating Formula Options
        Each rating formula in a rate table defines how a _glossary/balance.html is affected during rating. The impact can be an algebraic formula, a skip command, or a denial.
      - Create a Rate Table
        Rate tables are a part of price components. You create rate tables to contain the rating formulas for a price component. Rating formulas consist of a decision table and one or more rating formulas. This procedure covers the general steps for creating a rate table. Refer to the help procedure for creating each type of price component for instructions on creating a rate table that applies to that price component.
      - Change a Rate Table
        A change to a rate table is a change to any _glossary/price_component.html that contains it. Rate-table properties that impact charge price components, discount price components, and grant price components can vary. For information about rate table properties associated with each type of price component, see the discussion about rate table properties in My MATRIXX Help.
      - Create a Rate Table Parameter
        If the parameter you want to use in a rate table does not exist, you can create it dynamically from the Edit Formula dialog box.
      - Add Attributes to a Rate Table
        You can add a system attribute to the rate table or to a row in the rate table under the Attributes tab.
      - Add Data Modify Details to a Rate Table
        Add metadata and the default data modify profile to a rate table on the Data Modify tab.
      - Add Filters to a Rate Table
        Use the Edit Rate Table Filters tab to add a filter to a percentage discount price component. Configure an array of filters so that a discount component can control which purchased catalog items the discount applies to using a string set matches normalizer. For more information, see the discussion about purchase package discount filters.
      - Delete a Rate Table
        Deleting a rate table changes the price components that contain it. If the price component has been checked in to source control, you must correct the price component or create a revision to it.
      - Move a Rate Table Between Price Components
        After you create a rate table within a price components, you might decide to use that rate table in a different price component. You can move a rate table to any other price component. Before moving a rate table from one price component to another, consider how product offers that use the price components may be affected.
      - Rate Table Properties
        Rate tables are contained in price components and define the charging behavior for price components.
      - Data Modify Properties
        Use the Data Modify tab add metadata and data modify profiles to rate table decision tables.
      - Filters Properties
        Use the Filters tab to add filters to a rate table to allow percentage discount components from a catalog item within a purchase package to apply to charges in other specific catalog items in the same purchase package.
      - Rating Formula Properties
        Rate tables combine a decision table with one or more rating formulas to determine the rating to use for a specific set of normalized values.
    - Sponsorship
      Sponsorship lets you split a charge between more than one balance in a wallet using a sponsorship component added to a product offer. The sponsorship component includes a decision table that can select sponsorship profiles, each of which contains sponsorship rules.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.
  - Normalizer Configuration
    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
  - Application Configuration
    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.
- Policy Configuration
  Policy configuration components are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Delete a Rate Table

Deleting a rate table changes the price components that contain it. If the price component has been checked in to source control, you must correct the price component or create a revision to it.

Procedure

In Price Components, click the tab of the type of price component (Charges, Discounts, or Grants) that contains the rate table to delete.
Click the name of the price component that contains the rate table to delete.
In the Rate Tables pane, click for the rate table to delete.
Click Yes in the confirm-delete window.
