Import a Domain into a Pricing Repository
Import a pricing domain into the pricing repository that has previously been exported from a My MATRIXX instance (the export provides a ZIP file that can be imported). The operation creates a new domain in the pricing repository and checks in the initial contents of that new domain. You must be a user with the Global role of Domain Administration to perform this task.
Before you begin
Copy the ZIP file that contains the pricing domain to be imported onto the local host. For information about how to export a pricing domain, see the discussion about exporting a pricing domain to a ZIP file.
Importing a pricing domain into your user workspace requires that you have the Global role of Domain Administration.About this task
A pricing repository can often exist on one pod during development and transferred to another pod for production. In such cases, the pricing domains of the development version can be exported from Subversion and saved to a local system. This file can then be imported into the pricing repository on the development pod. You might use the import function to import a pricing domain into a new system, or you might use it to create a new pricing domain that is identical to a previously exported pricing domain for backup purposes.
You can export domains for prior release versions of MATRIXX and import them into instances of My MATRIXX for the current release version; the import function upgrades the imported domain as needed to the current release.
Procedure
-
Open a web browser and enter the following URL to open My MATRIXX, where
hostname is the name or IP address of the My MATRIXX
pod:
http://hostname:8082/matrixx/login.html
- Log into My MATRIXX.
- Under Administration, click Domains (not to be confused with Domains at the top of the home page in the toolbar).
-
In Domains, click Import New
Domain, and enter a name for the pricing domain to be imported.
Domain names have the following restrictions:
- The name is only made up of alphanumeric characters, dashes (-), underscores (_), and periods (.). No other special characters are allowed.
- The name does not conflict with an existing domain name in the pricing repository.
- Click Choose File.
-
In the File Upload dialog box, go to the directory containing the ZIP file and click Create.
The new domain is created.

What to do next
Pricing administrators who must work on the newly imported pricing domain require access privileges. System administrators who have the Global role of User Administration must grant access privileges to pricing administrators for the newly imported pricing domain.
