Announcement Server Properties

You configure announcement server properties listed in Announcement Server Properties on the Announcements Servers tab.

Table 1. Announcement Server Properties
Property Description
Name A unique name for the announcement server.
Description Information about the purpose of the announcement server.
External ID An optional field that can be set on MATRIXX pricing objects.
VoLTE Server Select if the announcement server is a Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) announcement server. If selected, announcements assigned to this server are performed using the Diameter protocol and no further configuration of the announcement server is required. Otherwise, announcements are performed using the Camel protocol.
Note: You create only one VoLTE announcement server per pricing file.
Address Digits String The address digits for the announcement server (up to 24 digits long).
Both Way Through Connection Enables or disables the sound path between the caller and the announcement server by setting the value of the bothwayThroughConnectionInd parameter that is sent to the announcement server in ConnectToResource (CTR) and EstablishTemporaryConnection (ETC) operations. One of:
  • Not Set — The bothwayThroughConnectionInd parameter is not sent in CTR and ETC operations.
  • Both Way Path Required — Enables the sound path between the caller and the announcement server in both directions.

If Both Way Through Connection is either Not Set or set to Both Way Path Required, you can assign an announcement prompt collect to PostRating profiles that use this announcement server so that digits can be collected from the caller during announcements.

  • Both Way Path Not Required — Disables the sound path from the caller to the announcement server. You cannot assign an announcement prompt collect to PostRating profiles that use this announcement server.
Note: During engine configuration, when configuring a voice service, MATRIXX Support recommends that you accept the default value of Not set for the bothwayThroughConnectionInd parameter. The voice service configuration for the bothwayThroughConnectionInd parameter, if set, overrides the announcement server pricing configuration, which could lead to errors being reported. For more information about voice service configuration, see MATRIXX Call Control Framework Integration.
External Server Select if the announcement server is an external interactive voice response (IVR) system. When unselected, it indicates that the announcement server is internal.
The following fields apply only to external servers.
Correlation ID in Address (Optional) Select to include the correlation ID for announcement requests in the announcement server address.
Numbering Plan Configures the type of numbering plan. Select from the list of available numbering plan indicator types:
  • 0:spare_000 — Unknown
  • 1:isdn_001 — Telephony numbering plan (ITU-T E.163 and E.164)
  • 2:spare_010 — Generic numbering plan
  • 3:data_x_121_011 — (ITU-T X.121)
  • 4:telex_f_69_100 — Telex numbering plan (ITU-T F.69)
  • 5:national_101
  • 6:national_110
  • 7:spare_111 — ISDN/mobile numbering plan (ITU-T E.214)
Nature of Address Configures the nature of address indicator. Select from the list of available indicators:
  • 1:subscriber
  • 2:unknown
  • 3:national_significant
  • 4:international
  • 5:network_specific
Correlation ID Length (Optional) The number of digits to use for the correlation ID. The value must be in the range: 4 to 255. The Correlation ID Length value overrides the correlation ID length configured for the voice service by the following create_config.info question:
Camel Gateway:VCS voice_service:What is the default correlation ID length for the Voice MO calls service?10
By default, the correlation ID length is 10.
Send Extra ConnectToResource to External Server Whether to send an extra ConnectToResource (CTR) operation to the external server in a separate TCAP CONTINUE message before sending the first PlayAnnouncement or PACUI operation. One of:
  • Do not send — Default. Do not send an extra CTR.
  • Without Both Way Through Connection — Send an extra CTR with the bothwayThroughConnectionInd parameter not set.
  • Both Way Path Required — Send an extra CTR with the bothwayThroughConnectionInd parameter set to 0 (bothwayPathRequired).
  • Both Way Path Not Required — Send an extra CTR with the bothwayThroughConnectionInd parameter set to 1 (bothwayPathNotRequired).
Note: Sending an extra CTR before the first PlayAnnouncement or PACUI (prompt and collect) operation is non-standard functionality that is not supported by most external IVRs.
Default SCF ID The default service control function (SCF) ID. If specified, the SCF ID must contain only hexadecimal characters in the range 0–9, A-F. If you leave Correlation ID in Address unselected, you must enter an even number of characters. The voice service uses the default SCF ID unless there is a specific engine ID to SCF ID mapping.
Engine ID Mappings table (Optional) Maps individual engine IDs to specific SCF IDs. Use this option if you want the announcement server to route announcement related voice traffic to specific Network Enablers. SCF IDs must contain only hexadecimal characters in the range 0–9, A-F. If you leave Correlation ID in Address unselected, each SCF ID must contain an even number of characters.
