Configure Overdraft Meter Details

In Meter Details, you can configure an overdraft meter.

About this task

Configure meter details in Edit Meter when creating or changing a meter template. For information about creating and changing meter templates, see the discussions about creating and changing meter templates. For a description of the Meter Details options, see the discussion about meter template properties.
Note: If you enter conflicting input values when defining your template, the associated template tabs are highlighted and an error displays for each set of conflicting input values. The error displays until the conflicts are resolved.

Procedure

  1. In Measured Quantity, select Overdraft.
  2. Select any of the following options:
    • Track Balances With No Limit — When selected, balances with no credit limit are tracked.
    • Track Virtual Balances — When selected, the amount available in any virtual balance is tracked for an overdraft meter.
    • Track Actual Currency Only — If selected, only actual currency balances are tracked.
    • Track Prepaid Only — If selected, only prepaid balances are tracked.
    • Track Postpaid Only — If selected, only postpaid balances are tracked.
  3. In Balance to Normalize, click Select Balance.
  4. In Balance Class, select the balance class. Meters that track a balance class are incremented when charges are applied to any balance instance of that class.
  5. In Use a balance option, specify whether to use a balance or a balance tag by doing one of the following:
    • To select a balance template, click Use Balance, and select the associated Balance.
    • To select a balance tag, click Use Balance Tag, and select the associated Balance Tag.
  6. Click Select.
  7. In Units, select the measurement unit the meter tracks. This unit can be different than the unit defined for the balance. For example, the balance unit can be megabytes and the meter unit can be bytes.
  8. Click Save.
Note: If you change any values in these fields, you must click Save.
