Configure Meter Template Periodic Meter
Meters can be periodic meters that represent a sequence of intervals that are impacted during rating.
About this task
Configure a periodic meter in Edit Meter when creating or changing a meter template to create. For information about creating and
changing meter templates, see the discussion about creating and changing meter templates.
Note: If you enter conflicting input values when you define
your template, the associated template tabs are highlighted and an error shows
for each set of conflicting input values. The error shows until the conflicts
are resolved.
Procedure
- In Periodic, select Periodic.

(Required) In Every, enter the length and select the
period type from the list:
- To create an interval independent of the billing cycle, enter the length and select the period type from the list: Minutes, Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, or Years. For example, to make the period span two weeks, type 2 and select Weeks.
- To align the interval with the bill cycle, select Align with Bill Cycle.
- To align the interval with the purchased item cycle, select Align to Purchased Item Cycle.

Specify the period interval start type.
In Cycle Start Type, select one of the following start types:
- Midnight — The first interval starts at midnight. This is the default setting.
- Absolute — The first interval starts at the time specified by the cycle time defined in the template. Enter the absolute start time in the format 00:00:00 (hours:minutes:seconds).
- Purchase Time — For required G/L balances, the first interval starts at
the
PurchaseTime
(without the date).
- (Required when Periodic is selected, and period type is Weeks, Months, or Years) In Cycle Offset Type, select the offset type as Purchase Time or Fixed Offset.

Fixed Offset) In Cycle Offset,
type the offset value based on the period type selected in
Every:
- Weeks — Number of days into the week starting with Sunday. For example, type 3 for Tuesday.
- Months — Number of days into the month: 1-31.
- Years — Number of days into the year: 1-365.
Note: For more information about fixed offset, see the discussion about periodic meter properties. - (Required) In Window Size, enter a value for the sliding window size. - (Required) In Low Water Mark, enter a value for the low water mark.
- (Required) In High Water Mark, enter a value for the high water mark.

Click Save.
Note: If you change any values in these fields, you must click Save.
