Change a Virtual Field

You can change any property of a virtual field except the ID. You can also add and remove virtual fields.

About this task

You change a virtual field in General Configuration.

Procedure

  1. In Virtual Fields, click the name of the virtual field to edit.
  2. (Optional) Edit the virtual field Name and External ID as needed.
    For a description of the virtual field properties, see the discussion about virtual field properties.
  3. (Optional) To add an MDC field, click Add MDC Field.
  4. Enter a Container Name.
  5. Enter a Field Name.
  6. Click Add.
  7. (Optional) To edit a row in MDC List, select the row and click the pencil icon in that row under the Edit column.
  8. Edit the Container Name and Field Name as needed, and click Save.
  9. (Optional) To add a catalog item parameter, click Add Parameter.
  10. (Optional) If several pages of parameters are listed, enter a search string in Search to filter the list of catalog item parameters as needed.
  11. (Optional) Click Previous or Next or a page number as needed to find a parameter you want to add.
  12. Select the row for the parameter you want to add, and click Add.
  13. (Optional) To remove a row from the MDC List or Parameter list,select the row and click the encircled x in that row under the Delete column.
    Note: You can rearrange a row in the list by clicking the equal sign handlebar in the Priority column and dragging the row up or down. The order of rows in MDC List is important because when the Charging Server tries to resolve the virtual field to a field in the list of containers and field pairs, the Charging Server selects the field by its position in the list.
  14. (Optional) Repeat Steps 3 through 13 as needed.
  15. Click Save.
