Verify Access to My MATRIXX

Use My MATRIXX to verify that the web services required by My MATRIXX are running and that My MATRIXX can read the pricing repository.

About this task

As a system administrator who created a pricing repository and added a sample pricing domain to it, you can now verify access to My MATRIXX by logging in to the system as the Guest or Admin user defined for the sample pricing domains. These users were either created by importing the _configuration files when the local repository was created or they are created when you start the Gateway Proxy and RS Gateway for the first time. The first time you log in to My MATRIXX, you are prompted to enter a username and password. The password you enter for the initial login of the Admin or Guest user is set in the system for that user.

Procedure

  1. In a web browser, go to the My MATRIXX Login page:
    http://ipaddress:port/matrixx/login.html

The IP address and port are defined by the external load balancer.

If the Welcome page opens, the setup is correct. If it does not, log into the My MATRIXX pod as user matrixxsw and enter the following command to check if all required applications are running:

    sudo systemctl status mtx_mymatrixx

Start any required application that is not running.

  2. In Username and Password, enter guest (or admin) and a password, and click Log in to open the main console.
If you can log in, this verifies that a workspace for the guest (or admin) user sample domain was created successfully (by checking it out of the pricing repository). A successful login also verifies that the My MATRIXX master data directory is configured correctly. The My MATRIXX master data directory is used by My MATRIXX to determine what pricing domains exist and determine the credentials of users allowed to use My MATRIXX.

What to do next

By default, the admin user of a newly installed My MATRIXX system has all global role access privileges, including those required for managing My MATRIXX user accounts. When logged in as admin user, you can create My MATRIXX user accounts and assign roles to those accounts. See My MATRIXX Help for information about creating My MATRIXX users and assigning user roles.
