Create a Notification Profile

A notification profile defines when notifications are sent for balance, product offer, and bundle expirations and recurring processing failures. You can create multiple notification profiles to add to these catalog items.

Procedure

  1. In Notification Profiles, click New Notification Profile.
  2. In Create Notification Profile:
    1. In Name, enter a unique name.
    2. (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about its purpose.
    3. (Optional) In External ID, enter any alphanumeric character to serve as a unique ID on this pricing object. The external ID can be used for any reason that is meaningful to your implementation of MATRIXX Engine. External IDs are saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing database.
    4. Click Create.
  3. In Notification Profile Data, click Add Data.
  4. In Add Data:
    1. In Notification Type, select when the notification is sent for this profile:
      • Prior to Event
      • On Event
      • After Event
    2. If the notification type is Prior to Event or After Event:
      • In Offset, enter the amount of time before or after the event time. You can also use the arrow controls to set this value.
      • In Offset Type, select the time measurement:
        • Minutes
        • Hours
        • Weeks
        • Days
        • Months
        • Years
      For example, to send a notification 5 days before a product offer expires, configure the following:
      • Notification Type — Prior to Event
      • Offset — 5
      • Offset Type — Days
    3. (Optional) Enter a string in Notification Metadata.
      For example, Tenant 1.
    4. Click Create.
  5. Repeat Step 4 for each notification type to add.

Results

The new profile is added to the Notification Profile list and can be added to a product offer definition or balance definition. The ID column in the Notification Profile list displays the notification ID number which can be used to identify a notification profile in a status life cycle.
