Create a GL Account Table

A General Ledger (GL) Account Table maps the rows of a decision table to a set of GL account names. You must configure at least one GL account 1 table and one GL account 2 table for a GL Info Generator. Repeat this task to add additional GL account tables.

Before you begin

Display the GL info generator that will contain the GL account table by clicking the name of GL info generator in the GL Info Generators tab.

Procedure

  1. Click the Account 1 Tables tab and click New GL Account 1 Table.
  2. In Create New GL Table:
    1. In Name, enter a unique name.
    2. (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about the item.
    3. (Optional) In External ID, enter any alphanumeric character to serve as a unique ID on this pricing object. The external ID can be used for any reason that is meaningful to your implementation of MATRIXX Engine. External IDs are saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing database.
    4. Click Create.
  3. (Optional) In Default Account, specify a default account name for the GL account table. This is the default account name for each row added to the table and can be overridden by specifying a transaction type in the GL account column of each row on the table. You can enter SKIP as a default result or override a default result with SKIP in any row or rows of the GL account table.
If a row in the GL account table is selected and the GL Account is SKIP, MATRIXX Charging Application skips to the next GL account table when the selected normalizer parameter value combinations are not pertinent to your GL. You can also omit these combinations from the GL account table rather than define rows for them. The compiled pricing plan handles both cases the same way.
  4. In the Decision Table pane, do one of the following.
    • To add an existing decision table, click Select Decision Table, click the name of the decision table to add, and click Select.
Tip: To filter the list of decision tables available, enter the decision table ID or name in the Search field.
    • To create a new decision table, click Create New Table and define the new decision table. For information about creating decision tables, see the discussion about creating a decision table.
After a decision table is applied to the component table, its ID and name display as a hyperlink in the Decision Table pane. To change the applied decision table, click the hyperlink to open Edit Decision Table. After making and saving changes, click Cancel to return to the component table.
  5. In the GL account table, assign a GL account to each row.
Note: During rating, the GL account tables are examined in the order they are listed in GL info generator. To change the order in which multiple tables are listed, click and drag a table to the new position in the GL Account Tables list.
