MATRIXX Streamed Event Files (SEFs)
MATRIXX Streamed Event Files (SEFs) are generated on the publishing pods on all MATRIXX Engines. They contain a list of usage and non-usage events generated during transaction processing. SEFs are created in compact MDC (CMDC) format and include a header that has the Global Transaction Counter (GTC) and the number of events.
- As MATRIXX Event Files (MEFs), which are then published to, and consumed outside of, MATRIXX and can be input to third-party applications.
- As events stored in the Event Repository by the Event Loader.
- As events to external systems if the Event Streaming Framework is enabled.
All event-streaming-related features (like MEFs, Event Loading, and Event Streaming) use SEF files as the event source.
When the Event Streaming Framework or Event Loader is enabled or if MEFs are used, a stream_events directory exists on the local SSD on the publishing pod (${MTX_TXN_LOG_DIR}/stream_events) and on the shared storage (/mnt/mtx/shared/stream_events). For information about how SEFs are named and stored, see the discussion about stream_events directory and file format in MATRIXX Event Streaming.
For more information about the MATRIXX environment variables, see the discussion about container directories and environment variables in MATRIXX Installation and Upgrade.
