Rehome a Group

Use the Group Summary page to rehome a group and its sessions from one sub-domain to another sub-domain in a multi-domain platform.

Before you begin

To rehome an object, you must have the MTX_ROLE_ADMIN role.
Note: Rehoming is only enabled if there are sub-domains available to which this object can be rehomed. For example, objects cannot be rehomed to a target sub-domain with a different tenant ID.

About this task

Groups can only be rehomed if they are not part of a subgroup or have any subgroups. When a group is rehomed, the user who is the owner of the group and all group members (including all rehome object sets for each member) are also rehomed. For more information about rehoming restrictions, see the discussion about rehoming in MATRIXX Subscriber Management.

Procedure

  1. In the Group Summary page, click Rehome.
  2. In Destination ID, enter the destination criteria (for example, RouteId+4)
    • To find a sub-domain ID, select a sub-domain using the following steps:
    1. Click Find Subdomain. The sub-domains that meet both the following criteria are returned:
      • Sub-domains that the object is not in.
      • Sub-domains that either do not have a tenant ID defined or have the same tenant ID as the object.
    2. Select a sub-domain ID from the drop-down menu.
    3. Click Submit. The selected sub-domain is entered into Destination ID.
    • To rehome to the same sub-domain as another user, subscription, or group, find that object using the following steps:
    1. Click Find User, Find Subscription, or Find Group as appropriate.
    2. Enter the search criteria (either the object's External ID or Object ID), and click Search.
    3. In the returned table, click either the External ID or Object ID to enter it into Destination ID.
  3. Click OK.
A success message displays if the rehome is successful. On the Group Summary page, the group's Subdomain ID is updated.
