Managing Bulk Operations

To use a CSV file to add/modify subscriptions, groups, device, and users directly, click Bulk Operations on the Home page or click the Bulk Operations tab in the header on any page other than the main page. You must have the MTX_ROLE_BULK_OPS role to display this tab.

Tip: Run these bulk operations at non-peak times to help balance the engine load.
Bulk operations can be run for the following operations:
  • ModifyUser
  • RehomeUser
  • ModifySubscription
  • RehomeSubscription
  • ModifySubscriptionOffer
  • CreateDeviceAndLinkSubscription
  • ModifyDevice
  • ModifyDeviceOffer
  • RehomeDevice
  • ModifyGroup
  • ModifyGroupOffer
  • RehomeGroup
The multiple tasks within a bulk operation are initiated at the same time, but only one task is executed at a time. Pending tasks can be canceled, but the in-process task cannot be canceled.

The details and status of all the uploaded bulk operations are listed in the Bulk Operations table, which can be updated by clicking Refresh.

Note: If a bulk operation terminates unexpectedly, it does not automatically resume once the environment is up and running again. You can find where the operation stopped through its status file. Run another bulk operation to submit the rest of the rows for processing.
