Emergency Roaming Requests

For emergency requests, MATRIXX Engine determines if a partner agreement is in place by validating that the Emergency APN value in the message has a corresponding roaming configuration defined in My MATRIXX. If an agreement is found, MATRIXX Engine allows the request. If there is no agreement, the request is rejected.

MATRIXX Engine identifies an emergency roaming request when the Gx Credit-Control Response Called-Station-Id AVP is populated with an emergency identifier value defined in My MATRIXX (the Emergency APN value) and an emergency roaming agreement (an emergency request) is defined in My MATRIXX. If there is no agreement, the request is rejected. Because Rx and Gx sessions are correlated using the device Framed-Ip-Address, after a Gx session is created, the Rx session is treated the same for roaming and non-roaming scenarios.

For more information about defining emergency requests, see the discussion about inbound roamers in My MATRIXX Help.
