Perform a Global Search

You can perform global searches to search for all the items that match a global search string. The search results display all the items with matching indexed tags, such as items for which the ID, name, description, or external ID match the search string. For example, a search for the string 15 finds all the items that have 15 in the ID, Name, Description, or External ID fields. It also finds other items that have matching index tags, such as balances with a filter ID of 15 or that end 15 days after the purchase date.

Procedure

  1. In the search box at the top of the My MATRIXX home page, do one of the following:
    • To perform a new search, enter a new search string.
    • To reuse a previously entered search string, begin typing the search string. From the list of matching search strings, select the one you want to use.
  2. Click Search.
The matching items are listed in the search results.
Tip: You can view a list of the search queries you performed recently in the Recent list in the My MATRIXX toolbar. Clicking on a search in the Recent list goes to the search page and performs the search again.
  3. To open the Edit page for an item in the list, click the link for that item.
Tip: You can filter the list based on any value that appears in the list by typing a string in the Filter field. You can also sort the list by any column by clicking the column heading. For information, see the discussion about sorting and filtering items in a list.
