Sort and Filter Items in a List
Some My MATRIXX interfaces provide list screens that contain the items that have been created or configured for that interface. For example, the list screen for event types lists all event type objects. Lists are in table format with column headings. You can sort items in a list, filter items in a list, and set how many items to display in a list. For example, you can sort event types by their object ID in ascending or descending order and you can search for a normalizer template in a list based on the normalizer template Description value. Certain columns within the tables of the My MATRIXX interfaces support sorting. Any sortable column is indicated by a sort icon next to the column header.
Before you begin
Open the My MATRIXX interface that contains the list of items.
About this task
You can sort items in a list based on any property in the table that supports sorting, you can filter in the list by searching for data in any of the columns, and you can set how many items to display in a list. For example, you can sort event types by their object ID in ascending or descending order and you can search for a normalizer template in a list based on the normalizer template's description.
Procedure
-
To sort objects in a list, click in a column heading at the top of
the list and then click the direction arrow that appears. This sorts the list
based on that column in either ascending or descending alphanumeric order. To
reverse the order, click the column heading again.
For example, click in the Name column heading to change the sort order for the list of normalizer templates.Note: The last column that you sort determines the primary sort order. For example, you can sort the Normalizer Templates list by descending ID and then sort the Algorithm column in the same list by ascending order. The list will be sorted first by ascending Algorithm and then by descending ID. This could result in 10 time algorithm templates listed in descending order by ID and then five zone algorithm templates listed in descending order by ID.
- To filter the items in a list, in Search, begin typing the string on which to base the filter. You can search for any value that appears in the item's list screen. The result is a filtered list that includes only those items that match the search criteria.
-
To set the number of items displayed per page, in
Show …entries, click the number.
For lists that contain many items, additional pages are created to contain those that extend the set number to display.
- To navigate to a different page of the list, click the page number or Previous and Next at the bottom of the table.
