Catalog Item Revisions

You can create catalog item revisions to make product offers or bundles available for specific time periods.

A new revision of a catalog item is a copy of the original catalog item with changes to one or more of these details:

  • Name
  • Description
  • External ID
  • Contract
  • Offer ID
  • Start Date/Time
  • Purchase Start Date
  • Purchase End Date
  • Offer
  • Pricing Revision Policy

Setting future start dates allows you to have several inactive revisions of a catalog item saved at any one time. Each one becomes valid as soon as the start date occurs. When an event is received, the rating engine determines which revision applies to the event time and uses the pricing information in that revision. This allows the MATRIXX Engine to handle older events that are received and new events and apply the proper rating. Only one revision can be active in the system at one time.

Note: Catalog item versions are not supported. Instead, create new catalog items as needed.
