Create a QoS Profile

A QoS profile defines the quality of service provided by a specific policy profile. You can create QoS Info profiles and Default EPS Bearer profiles.

Procedure

  1. In QoS Profiles, click New QoS Profile.
  2. In Create New QoS Profile, enter a name for the QoS profile.
  3. (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about the item.
  4. Select one of the following QoS profile types:
    • QoS Info — The QoS is determined by the settings in the QoS Info profile.
    • Default EPS Bearer — The QoS is determined by the default EPS Bearer QoS profile.
  5. Click Create.
  6. Configure the QoS profile.
    For QoS Info profiles:
    1. (Optional) Select Use Extended Fields for 5G RAN.
If you select this option, skip 6.d and configure the following properties:
      • Extended APN Aggregate Max Bitrate Download (kbps)

(Optional) configure a source container, field, and tier (group objects only) that MATRIXX Engine uses instead of the Extended APN Aggregate Max Bitrate Download when available.

      • Extended APN Aggregate Max Bitrate Upload

(Optional) configure a source container, field, and tier (group objects only) that MATRIXX Engine uses instead of the Extended APN Aggregate Max Bitrate Upload when available.

For more information, see the discussion about session management QoS info properties.

    2. Specify the APN QoS Treatment:
      • Override
      • Ceiling
      • Floor
    3. (Optional) Select Apn QoS Prefer Network if you want MATRIXX Engine to give preference to QoS-Info values requested by the network in Gx CCR-[I|U] messages from the PCEF.
    4. (Optional) Configure the following properties:
Note: These properties are available only if you did not select Use Extended Fields for 5G RAN.
      • APN Aggregate Max Bitrate Download (bps)

(Optional) configure a source container, field, and tier (group objects only) that MATRIXX Engine used instead of the APN Aggregate Max Bitrate Download when available.

      • APN Aggregate Max Bitrate Upload (bps)

(Optional) configure a source container, field, and tier (group objects only) that MATRIXX Engine uses instead of the APN Aggregate Max Bitrate Upload when available.

For more information, see the discussion about session management QoS info properties.
