Create a Session Management Policy Profile
Session management profiles define the PCC rules, event triggers, QoS profiles, default EPS bearer QoS, and supported features sent to the PCEF as the result of a policy change.
Before you begin
First, create the PCC rules, event triggers, QoS profiles, default EPS bearer QoS, and
supported features lists that the session management profile will contain. For
details, see these discussions:
- Adding PCC rules.
- Creating policy event triggers.
- Creating a QoS profile.
- Creating a default EPS bearer QoS.
Procedure
-
In Session Management Policy
Profile, click New Policy Profile.
Edit Session Management Profile opens with the General tab displayed.
- In Name, enter a unique name.
- (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about the item.
- (Optional) In External ID, enter any alphanumeric character to serve as a unique ID on this pricing object. The external ID can be used for any reason that is meaningful to your implementation of MATRIXX Engine. External IDs are saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing database.
- Click in Start Date to bring up the calendar, then set the start date for which the policy profile will be available in the system.
-
In Bearer Control Mode, enter your preferred bearer
control mode. The options are:
- 0 — UE_ONLY. Only the UE can request any additional bearer establishment.
- 1 — NW_ONLY. Only the PCEF can request any additional bearer establishment.
- 2 — UE_NW. Either the UE or the PCEF can request any additional bearer establishment, and add their own traffic mapping information to an IP-CAN bearer.
- Click Save.
