Balances Properties

Use the Balances tab to add required balances to the offer revision. On a subscription offer, you can optionally set one balance as the primary balance.

Typically, product offers have at least one balance specified as required so usage and rating can occur.

Adding a balance makes it required, which ensures that the balance is available during rating so charges can be applied and authorizations made. When a catalog item is purchased and it identifies a required balance, the balance will be created in the purchaser's wallet if it does not already exist, and that instance is used when the product offer is applied during rating.

Specifying an optional tier for an aggregated balance creates a virtual balance in the purchaser's wallet and a G/L balance in the wallet at the specified tier. For more information, see the discussion about product offer required tier balances in MATRIXX Pricing and Rating.

Required Balances Properties lists the required balances properties.

Is Private (Subscription offers only) When selected, restricts the required balance to a specific subscriber, group, or device on a subscription product offer.
Important: Selecting Is Private on the product offer on the Balances tab restricts the required balance to a specific subscriber, group, or device. If the required balance has Private Balance selected on the balance template, then the balance must be a private balance and you must select Is Private on the product offer, otherwise an error displays.

For more information about selecting Private Balance on a balance template, see the discussion about configuring balance template general properties.

Note: A private balance cannot have a balance instance creation policy of One per Wallet.
Expire On Consumption (Subscription offers only) When selected, the private balance is automatically expired upon full consumption (0 balance).
Note: This option is only available when Is Private is selected.
For more information, see the discussion about private balances.
Note: When Expire On Consumption is selected, a credit limit threshold must be set on the balance template and all notifications must be enabled on the balance template. For more information, see the discussions about adding balances, configuring balance template thresholds, and configuring balance template rollover and notifications.
