Maximum Authorized Granted Time
The maximum amount of the granted time for calls using a CCF voice service is based on the default authorized quantity configuration in the service context and the value configured for the voice_charging_service.requested_time_in_seconds
parameter.
Pricing administrators configure a hierarchy of service types, each with service contexts containing quota parameters. However, CAMEL voice services typically use only one service with one service context that defines default and maximum quota amounts. The service context configuration may also force the use of the default authorized quota amounts (for example, if the Use Default Auth Quantity parameter is selected for the service context) even if the network requests otherwise.
Voice offers may also include components that select a usage quota profile with parameters similar to the service context parameters.
For each set of service context or quota profile parameters:
- If Use Default Auth Quantity is selected, the default authorized amount is always the maximum.
- If Use Default Auth Quantity is not selected, the maximum
amount is set to the lesser of the following: the configured maximum amount, or the
value of the
voice_charging_service.requested_time_in_seconds
parameter. Thevoice_charging_service.requested_time_in_seconds
parameter defines the requested time for CCF services, and is set to 900 seconds by default. If required, change this value for a voice service by answering the following create_config.info configuration question:What requested time in seconds should be used for the vcs_service calls service?
. For more information, see the discussion about voice charging configuration. - The global maximum is the highest defined maximum value across all sets of parameters. Typically, this would be the maximum value defined in the service context.
Pricing administrators can also configure a minimum authorization amount (MinAuth) for a service type as part of pricing configuration. MinAuth is the minimum below which which quota is not authorized by the Charging Server, for example, to ensure a voice call is established only if the subscriber has enough funds to prevent the call being cut off after a few seconds. If the requested amount is less than the minimum amount, the request is denied.
