Charging Configuration
Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
Pricing Configuration
Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship lets you split a charge between more than one balance in a wallet using a sponsorship component added to a product offer. The sponsorship component includes a decision table that can select sponsorship profiles, each of which contains sponsorship rules.
Sponsorship Component Properties
Add sponsorship profiles to sponsorship components using the sponsorship component's decision table.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.

  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
  - Balance Configuration
    Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.

    Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.

      Use the topics in this section to help you plan, configure, and manage your pricing plans.
    - Contracts
      A contract defines either a finance contract or a service contract. A finance contract defines the terms and conditions of a contract. A service contract defines the terms and charges for a service, for example, voice or data.
    - Decision Tables
      Decision tables consist of a number of _glossary/normalizer.html columns that define a set of business logic (one or more condition sets) that can be reused in different circumstances. Decision tables can be combined with a set of results into any type of component table, such as a policy table, rollover table, rate table, _glossary/gl_transaction_type.html table and account table, filter, or priority generator.
    - ETC Schedules
      Create an early termination charge (ETC) schedule that defines the range units and upper boundary of the range.
    - Filters
      Filters are independent, reusable, pricing items that can be associated with balances, meters, subscription product offers, and notifications.
    - Payment Schedules
      You can create payment schedules consisting of different installment payments for different time periods of a service contract term. Optionally, specify a final payment to be applied in the last period of the contract cycle.
    - Price Components
      MATRIXX price components are reusable pricing items that can be included in any number of product offers. They include charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures.
    - Rate Tags
      Rate tags are reusable pricing objects that you can set on rating formulas. MATRIXX Engine identifies charges that use rating formulas associated with the same rate tag and groups them together in the _glossary/edr.html it generates. An operator may use rate tags, for example, to separate charges for calling premium-rate numbers from charges for calling standard-rate numbers in the EDR.
    - Rate Tables
      Charges, discounts, and grants are comprised of one or more rate tables that define how and when a charge, discount, or grant is applied during rating.
    - Sponsorship
      Sponsorship lets you split a charge between more than one balance in a wallet using a sponsorship component added to a product offer. The sponsorship component includes a decision table that can select sponsorship profiles, each of which contains sponsorship rules.
      - Create a Sponsorship Rule
        Sponsorship rules are part of sponsorship components. You create sponsorship rules to define the sponsoring balance and percentage to use in splitting charges. Sponsorship rules can be used in multiple sponsorship profiles.
      - Change a Sponsorship Rule
        Changing a sponsorship rule changes any sponsorship profile that contains it.
      - Copy a Sponsorship Rule
        You can create a copy of a sponsorship rule.
      - Delete a Sponsorship Rule
        Sponsorship rules being used in a sponsorship profile cannot be deleted. You must remove the rule from any sponsorship profiles before deleting it.
      - Create a Sponsorship Profile
        Sponsorship profiles identify the sponsored balance (the one that normally takes the charge) and an ordered list of sponsorship rules.
      - Change a Sponsorship Profile
        Changing a sponsorship profile changes any sponsorship component that contains it.
      - Copy a Sponsorship Profile
        You can create a copy of a sponsorship profile.
      - Delete a Sponsorship Profile
        If the sponsorship profile is being used in a sponsorship component, it cannot be deleted.
      - Create a Sponsorship Component
        Add a sponsorship component to an offer. It includes a decision table that allows you to select a sponsorship profile. You can have one sponsorship component per product offer or many sponsorship components if they apply to different application types. This object can have revisions.
      - Change a Sponsorship Component
        Sponsorship components applied to an offer cannot be changed without removing and reapplying them to the offer.
      - Copy a Sponsorship Component
        You can create a copy of a sponsorship component.
      - Delete a Sponsorship Component
        Sponsorship components that are being used in an offer cannot be deleted.
      - Sponsorship Rule Properties
        Create sponsorship rules to add to sponsorship profiles. The order of rules in the rule array is the order the rules take precedence. Sponsorship rules are reusable.
      - Sponsorship Profile Properties
        Add sponsorship rules to sponsor profiles to determine percentages for split charges.
      - Sponsorship Component Properties
        Add sponsorship profiles to sponsorship components using the sponsorship component's decision table.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.
  - Normalizer Configuration
    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
  - Application Configuration
    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Sponsorship Component Properties

Add sponsorship profiles to sponsorship components using the sponsorship component's decision table.

Sponsorship Component Properties lists the properties for sponsorship profiles.

Table 1. Sponsorship Component Properties
Option	Description
ID	A unique ID that identifies the sponsorship component.
Name	Name of the sponsorship component.
Description	Description of the sponsorship component.
External ID	(Optional) Use this field to identify this item in MATRIXX pricing items. An External ID is saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing Database. Set the External ID value to any alphanumeric character that is meaningful to your implementation. An External ID can be used, for example, to relate offers in the MATRIXX system to products in an external pricing plan. It can be used, for example, by the Subscriber Management API to query and purchase product offers and bundle IDs.
Start Date/Time	The start date and time the sponsorship component takes effect.
Application	The application to which the sponsorship component applies. Options are: auto_renew cancel cycle_arrears_recurring firstuse purchase purchased_item_activation recurring resume suspend usage
Sponsorship Tables	Tables that define the decision tables used for sponsorship profile selection. A sponsorship component can reference more than one sponsorship table. Each table results in a different sponsor profile being applied to an operation. Sponsoring the same balance with more than one table results in an error.
