Charge Selection During Rating
There are three possible outcomes when considering whether a charge component is applied during authorization and rating: pass, fail, and not applicable. The outcome depends on the contents of the rate table row selected and the availability of the impacted balance.
If a charge component contains a rate table that passes, the charge component also passes and is applied during rating. A charge component fails if it contains at least one rate table that fails and no rate table that passes. Note that if one rate table tries to charge a balance that's not available, then a SKIP value from a subsequent rate table does not negate the failure.
If the selected row has a rating formula and not a SKIP value, but there is either no valid instance of the impacted balance, or all the valid instances are at or above their credit limit, the rate table fails and is not used. The next rate table in the price component is examined for validity.
If every rate table in a charge component is not applicable (for example, if they all have a SKIP value, the charge is not applicable.
