Create or Change a Catalog Item

Use the Catalog Items interface to copy, edit, or create a catalog item.

Before you begin

A Pricing User must have already created the offers or bundles that you will use as the basis for catalog items.

Procedure

  1. In Catalog Configuration, click Catalog Items.
    Catalog Items displays with a list of the catalog items. You can filter the list by typing in the Search field.
  2. (Optional) Click Copy the selected object in the catalog item row to create a new catalog item by duplicating an existing one. Copy Catalog Item displays. Change the name as necessary and click Copy.
  3. (Optional) Click Edit the selected object in the catalog item row to change an existing catalog item.
  4. (Optional) Click New Catalog Item to create a new catalog item.
    1. In Select Template, click the Offers or Bundles tab, and click a template to use in the new catalog item.
      You can filter the list of templates by typing text in the Search window. When you select a template, the catalog item template fields enabled on the Template Fields tab for the selected offer or bundle display in Template Fields on the right of the page.
    2. Click Next.
    3. In Name, enter a name to represent the catalog item.
    4. (Optional) In Description, enter descriptive information about the item's purpose.
    5. (Optional) In External ID, enter any alphanumeric character to serve as a unique ID for this pricing object. The external ID can be used for any reason that is meaningful to your implementation. External IDs are saved to the pricing configuration file and loaded into the Pricing database.
    6. Click Create.
