Catalog Configuration
Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.
Catalog Items
You use the Catalog Configuration interface to create catalog items, and you create catalog items from predefined offers and bundles. The offers and bundles include the list of template fields you can change to use in catalog items. You can assign eligibility features, set eligibility requirements and exclusions, add metadata fields, and add parameters to the catalog items.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.
  - Catalog Items
    You use the Catalog Configuration interface to create catalog items, and you create catalog items from predefined offers and bundles. The offers and bundles include the list of template fields you can change to use in catalog items. You can assign eligibility features, set eligibility requirements and exclusions, add metadata fields, and add parameters to the catalog items.
    - Create or Change a Catalog Item
      Use the Catalog Items interface to copy, edit, or create a catalog item.
    - Configure Catalog Item General Properties
      Use the General tab to configure general catalog item properties.
    - Configure Catalog Item Metadata Properties
      Use the Metadata tab to add metadata parameters.

      Use the Eligibility Features tab to add or edit the eligibility features properties assigned to a catalog item.

    - Configure Catalog Item Parameter Properties
      Use the Parameters tab of Edit Catalog Item to assign _glossary/parameters.html to a catalog item.
    - Configure Parameter Binding Properties
      You can bind a parameter in the offer or bundle associated with a catalog item to a constant value or a catalog item parameter. The constant value or catalog item parameter value is passed to the offer or bundle parameter and used during rating instead of its default value.
    - Create a New Revision of a Catalog Item
      You use the Edit Catalog Item interface to create a new revision of a catalog item. Revisions are used to update pricing or other details for the catalog item that you offer to subscribers. When a new revision becomes active, the old one becomes inactive. After you create a new revision, the ID field for that catalog item is incremented.
    - Compare Catalog Item Versions
      Use the Edit Catalog Items interface to compare catalog items. You can view the differences between the current version of an object and the original object or the latest pricing repository version. This information is view-only and cannot be saved. However, you can save attribute changes, additions, and deletions in the original view or the comparison view by clicking Save. The comparison feature is supported for all tabs in this interface.
    - Delete a Catalog Item
      You use the Catalog Items interface to delete a catalog item.
    - Catalog Item Properties
      All catalog items have general, metadata, eligibility feature, eligibility rule, and parameter properties that you configure when you create or change a catalog item.
  - Catalogs
    Use the Catalogs interface to define which catalog items are included or excluded from a catalog.
  - Eligibility
    Use the Eligibility interface to configure, view, modify, and validate catalog item rules based on subscription, group, or device properties.
  - Normalizers
    Normalizers are used to select a balance, rating formula, or policy profile, or to prioritize product offers in real-time during rating. Normalizers can be reused in balance filters, rate tables, policy tables, GL transaction type tables, GL account tables, and product offer priority generators.
- Charging Configuration
  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
- Policy Configuration
  Policy configuration components are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Configure Catalog Item Metadata Properties

Use the Metadata tab to add metadata parameters.

Procedure

In Catalog Items, click the Metadata tab.
The list of metadata items appears with their data types, current values, and a delete option.
Click Add Metadata to add a new parameter.
Do one of the following based on the type of metadata parameter you are adding:
- (Custom) To add a custom metadata parameter, select Custom, enter a unique name for the parameter, select a data type for it, and enter the value for the custom parameter. The data type must be one of: string, integer, decimal, boolean, or long.
- (Icon Reference) To add the pre-defined metadata parameter for an icon reference, select Icon and enter the value for the parameter. Typically, the value is set to the URL that points to the image to be displayed in the UI. The image:
  - Replaces the 'tag' icons on the subscriber and group-summary pages in the Offers panel.
  - Replaces the 'tag' icons on the offer-details pages (subscriber, groups, and general-offers detail pages).
  - Appears in a column on the all-offers page (subscribers, groups, and general offers).
  - Appears on the add-offer page for subscribers and groups.
- (Legal Reference) To add the pre-defined metadata parameter for a legal-text reference, select Legal and enter the value for the parameter. Legal text appears on the offer-details pages (subscribers, groups, and general offers).
- (Display Order) To add the pre-defined metadata parameter for a MATRIXX display order, select MtxDisplay and enter the value for the item. The value (a string) is set to none or hidden to indicate not to show the item in the UI for standard users.
Repeat this step as necessary.
(Optional) Click in Value to edit the field.
(Optional) Click in the row of a metadata parameter to remove it.
Click Save.
