The following information describes the tasks that can be performed using the My MATRIXX Home menu.
Pricing Construction / Loading
Pricing Construction / Loading contains interfaces that enable you to schedule, compile, and validate a production version and a development version of a pricing configuration file. After the pricing compilation has been scheduled and compiled, it can be loaded and deployed onto an engine. If your engine has multiple sub-domains, each sub-domain must have the same base pricing loaded or a version of the same base pricing. You must have proper permissions to perform these tasks.
Scheduling and Managing Pricing Compilations
Before a pricing plan can be used, it must be scheduled for compilation. You can compile either a development or production pricing compilation. A single pricing compilation can be deployed to multiple engines.
Schedule a Production Pricing Compilation
Use the Schedule Compilation (Production) link to schedule a production pricing compilation. A production pricing compilation is created using the files in the master data directory and the latest revisions of the pricing files checked into SVN.

  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

  - Home Menu Tasks
    Use the Home menu to perform the following tasks:
  - Pricing Construction / Loading
    Pricing Construction / Loading contains interfaces that enable you to schedule, compile, and validate a production version and a development version of a pricing configuration file. After the pricing compilation has been scheduled and compiled, it can be loaded and deployed onto an engine. If your engine has multiple sub-domains, each sub-domain must have the same base pricing loaded or a version of the same base pricing. You must have proper permissions to perform these tasks.
    - Scheduling and Managing Pricing Compilations
      Before a pricing plan can be used, it must be scheduled for compilation. You can compile either a development or production pricing compilation. A single pricing compilation can be deployed to multiple engines.
      - Schedule a Development Pricing Compilation
        Use the Schedule Compilation (Development) link to schedule a development pricing compilation. A development pricing compilation is created using the user's current workspace files, which can be either the individual user workspace or a shared workspace.
      - Schedule a Production Pricing Compilation
        Use the Schedule Compilation (Production) link to schedule a production pricing compilation. A production pricing compilation is created using the files in the master data directory and the latest revisions of the pricing files checked into SVN.
      - Manage a Scheduled Pricing Compilation
        After a pricing compilation has been scheduled, manage the compilation using the Scheduled Price Compilations page. Access this page by either clicking Scheduled Compilations or by scheduling a pricing compilation. After a compilation is scheduled, you are redirected to the Scheduled Price Compilations page.
      - Price Compilation Properties
        The pricing compilation properties are listed in the Pending Compilations and Completed Compilations tables and the Edit Price Compilation page.
    - Validating the Price Plan and Viewing Errors
      The price plan is the collective set of all items that you can create/edit in My MATRIXX. When you validate the price plan, you are checking all the files in your local workspace that you have changed along with any files updated in your workspace others may have changed. During pricing validation, My MATRIXX checks that pricing items are correctly defined (with required values) and checks the pricing schema against the schema definitions of the running engine (or MATRIXX configuration file) that it points to.
    - Managing Engine Connections
      The Manage Engine Connections page provides a dashboard showing a list of known engine connections for the selected domain. If an engine connection is used by multiple domains, the connection is listed in each domain's Manage Engine Connections page. The domain's engine connections determine where its pricing compilations can be loaded for deployment, and where US tax compilations can be loaded for deployment.
  - Pricing Repository
    The Pricing Repository interfaces enable you to view a history of changes made to a _glossary/pricing_domain.html, to view a list of files that have been changed in a domain, and to synchronize your local workspace with the _glossary/pricing_repository.html by updating, committing, and reverting files in your pricing domain.
  - Administration
    Administration interfaces enable you to set up and manage user roles, domains, and notes.
  - System
    System interfaces enable you to manage the mdc_config_custom.xml file, manage workspace health, and view the status of running web applications and the configuration they are using.
- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.
- Charging Configuration
  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
- Policy Configuration
  Policy configuration components are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Schedule a Production Pricing Compilation

Use the Schedule Compilation (Production) link to schedule a production pricing compilation. A production pricing compilation is created using the files in the master data directory and the latest revisions of the pricing files checked into SVN.

Before you begin

You must have the Production Compilation global user role.

Procedure

Open a web browser and enter the following URL to open My MATRIXX, where hostname is the name or IP address of the My MATRIXX pod:
http://hostname:8082/matrixx/login.html
Log into My MATRIXX with your username and password.
In Pricing Construction / Loading, do one of the following:
- Click Schedule Compilation (Production).
- Click Scheduled Price Compilations. In Scheduled Price Compilations, click Schedule Compilation (Production).
A success message displays indicating that a compilation has been scheduled. You are redirected to the Scheduled Price Compilations page. For more information, see the discussion about managing a scheduled pricing compilation.
