Scheduling and Managing Pricing Compilations

Before a pricing plan can be used, it must be scheduled for compilation. You can compile either a development or production pricing compilation. A single pricing compilation can be deployed to multiple engines.

All pricing compilations include the technical catalog (offers, bundles, price components, and so forth), but the tenant pricing items included vary according to the configuration of the tenant profile.
  • If a tenant manages its own pricing (that is, the tenant profile has the Has Own Commercial Pricing flag selected), when pricing is compiled, it also includes the base catalog and commercial catalog for that tenant.
  • If a tenant does not manage its own pricing (that is, the tenant profile does not have the Has Own Commercial Pricing flag selected), when pricing is compiled, it includes the base catalog and the commercial catalog for all tenants that do not manage their own pricing.
When a user with the Tenant Administration role compiles pricing, it includes the base catalog and all commercial items for all tenants that do not manage their own pricing.

For more information about the different pricing catalogs, see the discussion about managing pricing domains.
