Create or Copy a Role

Create a role that determines the relationship between users and their subscriptions and groups. You can also create a role by copying an existing role.

Procedure

  1. In Roles, click New Role.
  2. In Create New Role, enter the following information.
    • Name — A unique name for the role.
    • Description — An optional description of the role.
    • External ID — An optional external ID for the role.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Select a permission level from the following options.
    • Permission Notification — The role has permission to receive notifications.
    • Permission Owner — The role has ownership permission.
    • Permission Subscription Aggregator — Subscriptions owned by users with this role are automatically associated with groups with which the user is associated.
  5. Click Save.
  6. To create a new role by copying an existing role, click Copy the selected object next to the role that you want to copy, enter a unique name for the new role, and click Create.
