Charging Configuration
Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
Offer and Bundle Configuration
Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.
Product Offers
Product offers are the basis for the pricing components that subscriptions, groups, and devices purchase, either singly or in bundles.
Create or Change Subscription Offers
This section explains how to create, change, and delete subscription product offers. Subscription product offers provide access to a service that is paid for periodically.
Create a New Revision of a Subscription Product Offer
You create a new revision of a subscription offer to change the offer contents, such as products offered and new pricing details. When a product offer is revised, the changes take effect for both existing and new customers.
Add Activation Filters
You use the Activation tab to specify an activation filter. When a filter is specified, an offer must satisfy all activation elements in the filter to activate the offer. You also use this tab to edit and delete activation filters. The default is no activation requirements. This tab is only valid for subscription offers.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

  The following information describes the tasks that can be performed using the My MATRIXX Home menu.
- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.
- Charging Configuration
  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
  - Balance Configuration
    Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.
  - Pricing Configuration
    Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.
    - Bundles
      Bundles group one or more product offers together so they can be purchased as a unit. You can also create bundle-specific charges, grants, and discounts that override or supplement the existing pricing components defined in individual product offers. A Pricing User creates bundles and configures the template fields that a Pricing User is allowed to change to make bundles available as catalog items.
    - Offer Owner State Update Components
      An offer owner state update component implements the business logic that decides which object state update profile to select during rating for a given set of normalization parameters. An offer owner state update component can be configured to run during a Purchase, Activation, Recurring, or Balance Threshold operation. When an offer owner state update component is executed, a decision table is used to select an object state update profile to update the custom data/time field of the offer owner object (subscriber/group/device).
    - Offer Priority Generators
      Priority generators provide one value used in the dynamic offer priority formula that calculates the product offer with the highest priority. Priority generators apply numerical priority values to the decision table rows. If a decision table row is selected as a candidate for rating an event, its priority value is used in the dynamic offer priority formula calculation that MATRIXX Charging Application uses to find the offer with the highest priority value. Then MATRIXX Charging Application rates the event using the offer with the highest priority (highest numerical priority value).
    - Product Offers
      Product offers are the basis for the pricing components that subscriptions, groups, and devices purchase, either singly or in bundles.
      - Product Offer Versions and Revisions
        You can create any number of product offer versions and revisions. Product offer versions are closely related, such as continuations of a product offer with new validity dates. Existing purchasers continue to use the older product offer version while you offer new purchasers the newer version. Revisions change existing product offers. For example, if you create a new revision with different pricing, both existing owners and new owners pay the new prices.
      - Create or Change Subscription Offers
        This section explains how to create, change, and delete subscription product offers. Subscription product offers provide access to a service that is paid for periodically.
        Create a New Subscription Product Offer
        You can create subscription product offers that contain standard or supplemental pricing for a service. Supplemental product offers contain pricing that can be applied in addition to the standard pricing during rating. When purchased, they are added to the subscriber, group, or device associated with the purchase event.
        Create a New Version of a Subscription Product Offer
        You create a new version of a subscription offer if you need to change the offer name, description, external ID, start date, or end date.
        Create a New Revision of a Subscription Product Offer
        You create a new revision of a subscription offer to change the offer contents, such as products offered and new pricing details. When a product offer is revised, the changes take effect for both existing and new customers.
        Configure Subscription Product Offer General Properties
        The General tab appears by default when you open a subscription offer revision. Use this tab to configure the offer general properties.
        Configure Start/End Dates and Times
        You specify the validation period for the offer revision using the Start/End tab.
        Add Price Components
        You use the Price Components tab to add any predefined price components the offer requires. A contract can have only one purchase charge component and zero or more discount components.
        Add Parameters
        Use the Parameters tab to add _glossary/parameters.html to the offer, and to specify the default values for those parameters. You can override the default parameter values in the offer within a catalog definition or at purchase time.
        Add Balances
        Use the Balances tab to add required balances to the offer revision and set one as the primary balance. When the product offer is purchased, an instance of each required balance is added to the subscriber or group wallet. During rating, this makes the balance a candidate for the pricing associated with that product offer.
        Add a Balance State
        Use the Balance State tab to add predefined balance state update components to the offer. Balance state update components extend the end time of a balance instance in a subscriber's wallet when the offer is purchased.
        Add Rollover Components
        You use the Rollover tab to add any predefined rollover components that a subscription offer requires.
        Add Meters
        Use the Meters tab to specify any predefined meters that a subscriber wallet must contain before purchasing the offer. Session meters cannot be added to a product offer, so they do not appear in the meter list. Meters are used in subscription and one time product offers.
        Apply Priorities
        Use the Priority tab to determine the order in which valid product offers are applied during rating. If a subscriber owns multiple product offers, the one with the highest priority is applied. If two product offers have the same priority, one is chosen arbitrarily.
        Apply Policies
        Use the Policies tab to apply an optional predefined policy component to the offer. The policy components must have already been created. For more information about creating policy components, see the discussion about policy components.
        Apply Proration Settings
        Use the Proration tab to define how much of the offer charges, grants, or time periods are applied or refunded if the offer is canceled.
        Apply Tax/GST Classes
        Use the Tax/GST tab to define how taxes are applied to charge price components contained in that product offer during rating. For each charge application type, you specify the tax class(es), whether the tax is included in pricing, whether MATRIXX Engine adds specific tax amount information to the Event Detail Record (EDR), and specify the tax point which the Charging Server uses to look up the tax rate to apply. If you use dynamic tax selection, you can also specify the tax selector that determines the taxes to apply.
        Add Custom Fields
        Use the Custom Fields tab to configure any predefined custom fields for the product offer. You must have already created a private product offer MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) and added it to the MATRIXX Engine schema.
        Add Attributes
        Use the Attributes tab to add any predefined attributes to the offer.
        Add Template Fields
        Use the Template Fields tab to apply a catalog item template, select the template fields to include in the catalog item, and to add default values to those template fields.
        Apply Cycle Data
        Use the Cycle Data tab to create a _glossary/purchased-item_cycle.html for triggering _glossary/recurring_processing.html. The purchased item cycle is independent of the balance cycle or billing cycle recurring processing that the rest of the MATRIXX Charging Server uses. The purchased item cycle for a bundle overrides that of any offers in the bundle, and the purchased item cycle in an offer overrides the Charging Server cycles.
        Add Activation Filters

        Add Usage Quota Components
        Add a usage quota component to a product offer.
        Add Usage Triggers
        Use the Usage Triggers tab to add usage trigger components to the offer, and to specify the profiles and components that the trigger requires.
        Assign a Repository Data Component to an Offer
        Assign an Sh repository data component to a product offer.
        Add Offer Owner State Update Components
        Use the Offer Owner State tab to add offer owner state update components to an offer. For more information, see the discussion about offer owner state update components.
        Add Sponsorship
        Use the Sponsorship tab to add any predefined sponsorship components to the offer.
      - Create or Change One Time Product Offers
        This section explains how to create, change, and delete one time product offers. One time offers are paid for immediately when the product offer is purchased.
      - Create or Change Global Product Offers
        This section explains how to create, change, or delete global offers.
      - Create or Change Finance Contract Offers
        This section explains how to create and change finance contract product offers. A finance contract defines the pricing components required to set up the contract.
      - Create or Change Service Contract Offers
        This section explains how to create and change service contract product offers. A service contract defines terms and charges for a service such as voice or data, allowing the subscriber, group, or device to gain additional benefits or discounts when they agree to sign a long-term contract.
      - Delete a Product Offer, Offer Version, or Offer Revision
        Deleting a product offer removes all versions and revisions of the product offer from the pricing plan. Deleting a version removes all revisions of that version.
      - Product Offer Properties
        All product offers have a generic set of properties that are displayed by default in the General tab when you open a revision of the offer in My MATRIXX. Click a tab to configure specific product offer properties.
    - Products
      A product represents the provisioning of a service type when a _glossary/catalog_item.html is purchased for a _glossary/subscription.html, _glossary/device.html, or _glossary/group.html. The products identify the service type, which in turn determines the pricing that can apply.
  - Normalizer Configuration
    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
  - Application Configuration
    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Add Activation Filters

You use the Activation tab to specify an activation filter. When a filter is specified, an offer must satisfy all activation elements in the filter to activate the offer. You also use this tab to edit and delete activation filters. The default is no activation requirements. This tab is only valid for subscription offers.

About this task

By default, an offer is activated the first time a subscriber uses it (no activation filter).

Procedure

In Edit Offer Revision offer_name, click the Activation tab.
(Optional) Select Activate with Usage to activate the offer on first usage.
(Optional) Click Add Filter to specify a usage filter that must be satisfied to activate the offer.
In Add Filter, click an activation filter in the list.

Note: Add is disabled until you select a filter.
Click Add.
The element is added to the list of required activation elements. Repeat this step as necessary.
(As needed) To edit or view details for an activation filter, click the filter name in the activation element list.
The Edit Filter list appears, showing the filter elements. Edit this list as necessary.
(As needed) Delete an activation filter by clicking in the activation filter row.
The activation filter is removed from the list.
Click Save.
