Pricing Data

The MATRIXX Engine pricing data model is compatible with the Shared Information/Data (SID) standard, as defined by the TM Forum (TMF).

Pricing data is based in XML. Each catalog item created with the My MATRIXX user interface application is stored as a separate MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) in the Pricing database. Product offers, which are the base catalog items, can be saved with multiple versions, so new pricing models can be developed and deployed. This model allows a new version of a product offer to become active in the database at a future date without requiring a new pricing plan to be deployed. This also supports reverting to an earlier version of a product offer when necessary.

Customers can roll out new pricing plans during runtime without interrupting transaction processing. Any events that are in-flight during the update process are rated with the pricing data that is present when the message is received. The Pricing database can also be reverted to an earlier version during runtime, if necessary.

For information about configuring pricing data, see the discussion about pricing configuration in My MATRIXX Help. For information about creating a pricing plan, see the discussion about planning a pricing plan in MATRIXX Pricing and Rating.
