Service Context Final Unit Indication

Define final unit indication (FUI) information for a service context type in My MATRIXX. Select properties to define information for the Diameter Final-Unit-Indication grouped AVP. You can configure FUI to be set dynamically during runtime based on valid pricing or you can specify values that are set to the same static value during runtime, without regard to any pricing.

Note: MATRIXX Engine supports both a FUI Generator ID that is chosen dynamically during rating to set Diameter FUI information and Final Unit Info properties that set constant values for the FUI information. The service context definition provides a way to configure both, but you can select to use just one.

To dynamically select a FUI profile for the service context during rating, select Unit ID, and select the Final unit generator ID.

To statically configure FUI information, select Unit Information, and configure any of the following properties.

Last Unit Action

The Last Unit Action selection indicates the action to be taken when the subscriber's balance cannot cover the service cost. This value is used by the Final-Unit-Action AVP. Select from the following actions:
  • terminate (default value) — When selected and the subscriber's balance cannot cover the service cost, access is terminated.
  • redirect — When selected, you must set the redirect address type and redirect address data values.
  • restrict access — When selected, you can specify an optional sub-element, FUI restriction filter, and FUI filter ID.

Redirect

If you select redirect as the Last Unit Action, you must set the following values:
  • Redirect Address Type — Specify how the service access should be redirected. This value is used for the Redirect-Address-Type AVP. If specified, the redirect address data attribute must also be specified.
  • Redirect Address Data — Specify the IPv6 address, URL, or SIP URI to which the service access should be redirected. This value depends on the Redirect address type and is used for Redirect-Server-Address AVP.

FUI Filters

If you select restrict access as the Last Unit Action, you can add restriction filter rules and filter ID. A rule is a string value that is an IPFilterRule. This value is used for the Restriction-Filter-Rule AVP. For information about IPFilterRule, see RFC 6733 and RFC 4006. You can also add a filter ID. This ID is a string value that is an IPFilterRule. This value is used for the for the Filter-Id AVP.
