Change a Priority Generator

Follow this procedure to modify an existing priority generator. This process can include creating a new revision of the priority generator, and/or making changes to the priority generator priority tables. If you are changing a priority table, it is usually more efficient to make that change in General Configuration first, before modifying the priority generator.

About this task

You can either choose to edit an existing revision of a priority generator or create a new revision. Remember that when a new offer revision becomes valid, the old one becomes invalid. The activation date is controlled by the start date defined for the revision, which defaults to the date the revision is created.

Procedure

  1. In Offer Priority Generators, click the priority generator to modify.
  2. (Optional) To create a new revision of a priority generator, in Edit Offer Priority Generator, click New Revision.
The priority generator ID is incremented by one integer.
  3. (Optional) In Priority Tables, select a table to change.
  4. In Edit Priority Table:
The default priority value is used for any missing rows in the decision table when compiling the price plan. Each row in the decision table can have a priority value.
    1. Edit any of the values you already set except ID.
    2. In Default Priority, enter a default priority, or SKIP. Any 32-bit integer is allowed, including negative numbers. The default is 0.
  5. In the Decision Table pane, make the following changes if needed:
    • To replace the decision table that is applied to the priority table with an existing decision table, click Select Decision Table.
    • To replace the decision table that is applied to the priority table with a newly created decision table, click Create New Table.
    • To change the decision table that is already applied to the priority table, click the hyperlink displaying its ID and name to open Edit Decision Table. Make and save changes, and then click Cancel to return to the rate table.
    • To change the priority to apply to any decision row in the rate table, change the priority value.
All changes in the Decision Table pane are saved automatically (effective immediately).
  6. Click Cancel to return to Offer Priority Generators, click the priority generator you just created, and, in Edit Offer Priority Generator, click New Priority. Fill out the Create New Priority items and click Create. In Edit Priority Table, click Select Decision Table, click the table you just created, and click Select to add it to the priority generator.
