The following information describes the tasks that can be performed using the My MATRIXX Home menu.
Pricing Construction / Loading
Pricing Construction / Loading contains interfaces that enable you to schedule, compile, and validate a production version and a development version of a pricing configuration file. After the pricing compilation has been scheduled and compiled, it can be loaded and deployed onto an engine. If your engine has multiple sub-domains, each sub-domain must have the same base pricing loaded or a version of the same base pricing. You must have proper permissions to perform these tasks.
Validating the Price Plan and Viewing Errors
The price plan is the collective set of all items that you can create/edit in My MATRIXX. When you validate the price plan, you are checking all the files in your local workspace that you have changed along with any files updated in your workspace others may have changed. During pricing validation, My MATRIXX checks that pricing items are correctly defined (with required values) and checks the pricing schema against the schema definitions of the running engine (or MATRIXX configuration file) that it points to.
View Price Plan Errors
When you validate the price plan, My MATRIXX generates the set of pricing errors found and displays them in the error list. The errors for a particular pricing item can also be viewed from that item's edit page.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

    Use the Home menu to perform the following tasks:
  - Pricing Construction / Loading
    Pricing Construction / Loading contains interfaces that enable you to schedule, compile, and validate a production version and a development version of a pricing configuration file. After the pricing compilation has been scheduled and compiled, it can be loaded and deployed onto an engine.     - Scheduling and Managing Pricing Compilations
      Before a pricing plan can be used, it must be scheduled for compilation. You can compile either a development or production pricing compilation. A single pricing compilation can be deployed to multiple engines.

      - View Price Plan Errors
        When you validate the price plan, My MATRIXX generates the set of pricing errors found and displays them in the error list. The errors for a particular pricing item can also be viewed from that item's edit page.
      - Correct Price Plan Errors
        When you validate a price plan, My MATRIXX generates a page with a navigable, dynamic list of pricing errors and warnings about objects defined in the price plan that are not in use. You access this error list by clicking the error count displayed on the upper right corner of My MATRIXX next to your username and domain.
      - Unused Object Types that Produce a Warning
        When validating a price plan, My MATRIXX checks that pricing items are correctly defined (with required values) and checks the pricing schema against the schema definitions of the running engine (or MATRIXX configuration file) that it points to. If the price plan includes pricing items that are defined but not used, My MATRIXX prints warning messages for the types of unused objects listed here.
    - Managing Engine Connections
      The Manage Engine Connections page provides a dashboard showing a list of known engine connections for the selected domain. If an engine connection is used by multiple domains, the connection is listed in each domain's Manage Engine Connections page. The domain's engine connections determine where its pricing compilations can be loaded for deployment, and where US tax compilations can be loaded for deployment.
  - Pricing Repository
    The Pricing Repository interfaces enable you to view a history of changes made to a _glossary/pricing_domain.html, to view a list of files that have been changed in a domain, and to synchronize your local workspace with the _glossary/pricing_repository.html by updating, committing, and reverting files in your pricing domain.
  - Administration
    Administration interfaces enable you to set up and manage user roles, domains, and notes.
  - System
    System interfaces enable you to manage the mdc_config_custom.xml file, manage workspace health, and view the status of running web applications and the configuration they are using.
- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.
- Charging Configuration
  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
- Policy Configuration
  Policy configuration components are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

View Price Plan Errors

When you validate the price plan, My MATRIXX generates the set of pricing errors found and displays them in the error list. The errors for a particular pricing item can also be viewed from that item's edit page.

About this task

The error list provides links that you can use to navigate to the objects that have errors as well as informational messages guiding you towards what needs to be fixed.

Procedure

In Pricing Construction / Loading, click View Errors.
The set of pricing errors that were found the last time you validated the price plan are displayed. Each error contains only the fields that apply to it. The full list of possible error fields are:
- An error number in the left column that identifies the error.
- A link to the My MATRIXX location to fix the problem. The link includes the pricing item name and identifier. For example, if there is an error with Balance 21049, clicking the blue Balances and Meter | assets | Postpaid weeks Balance Class link takes you to the Edit Balance page with the details of Balance 21049 displayed. You can make and save your changes and then run validation again to confirm that the error is fixed. This field is only present if the pricing object can be identified.
- Index — The element index containing the error. This field is present if the pricing object has rows or other lists of values such as arrays. The index of the table entry with the error is displayed.
- Field Name — The name of the MATRIXX Data Container (MDC) field containing the error. This field is only present if the issues exists within an MDC field.
- Message and details — The default text associated with the error ID and any additional information to help you diagnose the error.
You can configure the page size of the list. To filter the error list, enter criteria into the Search field.
If you made updates to files in your local workspace since the last time you validated the price plan, click Refresh at the top of the error list. This clears any issues from the list that were fixed by your updates and also refreshes the list with the current set of pricing errors.
To view errors for a specific pricing item, go to that item's edit page and click Pricing Issues next to the page title. This icon only displays if the item has any pricing errors or warnings. The number of issues is indicated in the icon.
