Add Data Modify Details to a Policy Table

Add metadata and the default data modify profile to a spending limit policy table on the Data Modify tab in the Edit Spending Limit Policy Table pane.

Before you begin

The data modify profile you want to use must have been created already. For more information, see the discussion about data mofiy profiles.

About this task

Perform this task to add metadata and a default data modify profile to a policy table.
Note: You must specify a default data modify profile if you want the table to perform data modify actions even if you select a different profile in the table. If a default data modify profile is not specified and any of the table rows include a data modify profile, a validation error occurs and the price plan cannot be loaded.

Procedure

  1. To add metadata to a policy table:
    1. In Edit Spending Limit Policy Table, click the Data Modify tab.
    2. Click Add Metadata.
    3. Enter values for the metadata name, type, and default value.
    4. Click Add.

    Repeat these steps for each piece of metadata to add.

    To change the default value for a piece of metadata, click the cell in the Value column for the metadata, and enter the value.

    To delete a piece of metadata, click Delete the selected object in the Delete column for the metadata.

  2. To set the default data modify profile, in Default Data Modify Profile, select the profile to use.
  3. Click Save.
    A column for each piece of metadata and a column for the profile is added to the decision table.
  4. In the decision table rows:
    1. To specify a different metadata value to the default, click in the metadata cell and enter the value.
    2. To select a different profile to the default, click in the profile cell and select the data modify profile to use.
