Charging Configuration
Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.

Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.

Copy Pricing Items in My MATRIXX
You can copy various My MATRIXX pricing items to make a near-duplicate copy of that item, which can save time during catalog creation. The new copy contains the property values in the original item, except for the object ID (generated automatically by My MATRIXX), a unique name (user-provided when you make the copy), and the start date/time. The new object is the first revision, so it has the default start date of 2000-01-01.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.

      - Planning a Pricing Plan
        Before you create a _glossary/pricing_plan.html, determine how you want to name, organize, and set up the items that form planning a pricing plan.

        You can make corrections and revisions to all pricing items except balance classes, meter classes, balances, meters, and products. For information about product offer versions, see the discussion about product offers in MATRIXX Pricing and Rating.
      - Caveats About Changing and Deleting Pricing Items
        Changing and deleting pricing items from a pricing plan when there are already active _glossary/subscription.html in the system can cause errors during charging and rating. This topic lists several caveats to note before changing or deleting items, and provides information about how to do so safely.
      - Specifying MDC Field Keys
        Several pricing configuration items have definitions that include MATRIXX Data Containers (MDCs) and MDC field names, such as normalizer template fields, event field mappings, and so forth. When specifying an MDC name in the edit field for any of these configuration items, you can begin typing an MDC name or MDC field name and a drop-down menu of all valid MDC containers available to the component that you are creating appears. After specifying an MDC name, you can specify an MDC field name in the drop-down menu in the field value field. Available fields are determined by the selected MDC.
    - Contracts
      A contract defines either a finance contract or a service contract. A finance contract defines the terms and conditions of a contract. A service contract defines the terms and charges for a service, for example, voice or data.
    - Decision Tables
      Decision tables consist of a number of _glossary/normalizer.html columns that define a set of business logic (one or more condition sets) that can be reused in different circumstances. Decision tables can be combined with a set of results into any type of component table, such as a policy table, rollover table, rate table, _glossary/gl_transaction_type.html table and account table, filter, or priority generator.
    - ETC Schedules
      Create an early termination charge (ETC) schedule that defines the range units and upper boundary of the range.
    - Filters
      Filters are independent, reusable, pricing items that can be associated with balances, meters, subscription product offers, and notifications.
    - Payment Schedules
      You can create payment schedules consisting of different installment payments for different time periods of a service contract term. Optionally, specify a final payment to be applied in the last period of the contract cycle.
    - Price Components
      MATRIXX price components are reusable pricing items that can be included in any number of product offers. They include charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures.
    - Rate Tags
      Rate tags are reusable pricing objects that you can set on rating formulas. MATRIXX Engine identifies charges that use rating formulas associated with the same rate tag and groups them together in the _glossary/edr.html it generates. An operator may use rate tags, for example, to separate charges for calling premium-rate numbers from charges for calling standard-rate numbers in the EDR.
    - Rate Tables
      Charges, discounts, and grants are comprised of one or more rate tables that define how and when a charge, discount, or grant is applied during rating.
    - Sponsorship
      Sponsorship lets you split a charge between more than one balance in a wallet using a sponsorship component added to a product offer. The sponsorship component includes a decision table that can select sponsorship profiles, each of which contains sponsorship rules.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.
  - Normalizer Configuration
    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
  - Application Configuration
    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

  Policy configuration components are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Copy Pricing Items in My MATRIXX

You can copy various My MATRIXX pricing items to make a near-duplicate copy of that item, which can save time during catalog creation. The new copy contains the property values in the original item, except for the object ID (generated automatically by My MATRIXX), a unique name (user-provided when you make the copy), and the start date/time. The new object is the first revision, so it has the default start date of 2000-01-01.

Procedure

Open the My MATRIXX interface that lists the items of that type.
Click next to the item to copy.
In Create Copy, in Name, enter a unique name for the new item.
Make any necessary changes to the pricing item and click Save.
