Support for Announcements

After handover, the incumbent platform processes the TCAP request without any further involvement with MATRIXX.

    Call Control Framework (CCF) pre-call announcement functionality enables you to play announcements to the caller before connecting them to the dialed number.

    Call Control Framework (CCF) can send the list of announcements to play to the announcement pod using a PromptAndCollectUserInformation (PACUI) operation to allow information to be collected from the caller and used during call processing.

    Play balance information to the subscriber during announcements, for example, to tell the subscriber when their balance is low.

    Call Control Framework (CCF) sends the list of announcements to play to the subscriber in a TCAP message containing either a maximum of three PlayAnnouncement operations or one PromptAndCollectUserInformation (PACUI) operation.

  Call Control Framework (CCF) supports making Mobile Application Part (MAP) Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) call out requests to deliver USSD notifications to a subscriber. CCF also supports USSD services for queries, call back, and interactive menus using MAP-Process-UnstructuredSS-Request messages, and MAP-UnstructuredSS-Request messages.

  Call Control Framework (CCF) provides support for menu driven announcements using IVRs and interactive USSD service menus that give subscribers options for retrieving and updating their balances and account details.

  Call Control Framework (CCF) provides support for making Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) call out requests to an LDAP server in response to TCAP or Diameter messages that require them.

Configuring CCF to Play Announcements

Configuring Call Control Framework (CCF) to play announcements involves enabling announcements for voice services and configuring announcements pricing components.

Engine Configuration

During MATRIXX Engine configuration, system administrators configure, per voice service, whether to enable pre-call announcements. System administrators can also set the following properties for announcements:

Whether to release or continue a call if the announcement pod fails to play an announcement.
Whether to send ResetTimer before playing announcements to reset the Tssf announcement timer.
Whether to arm the oAbandon event detection point (EDP) before playing announcements. When set, the MSC sends events instead of TCAP aborts if the call is ended before or during an announcement.

Pricing Configuration

During pricing configuration, pricing administrators can configure the list of announcements to play to the caller in the following ways:

By configuring announcement pricing components for announcement pods, announcement details, announcement variables, announcement prompt collects (prompt and collect user information), PostRating profiles, and PostRating generators in My MATRIXX. This is the recommended method for configuring announcements.

By configuring announcement strings as results values in normalizers for the VXML announcements you want to play. For information, see the discussion about configuring VXML announcements using normalizers.
Note: Use this method to configure only the announcement strings in VXML announcements. Configure non-VXML announcements by configuring announcements pricing components in My MATRIXX instead.
