Balance Template Rollover and Notifications Properties

In Rollover and Notifications, you can define when a balance rollover is allowed, how the rollover balance is consumed, and when balance notifications are generated.

Rollover and Notifications Properties lists the rollover and notifications properties.

Table 1. Rollover and Notifications Properties
Property Description
Rollover Allowed For prepaid, periodic balances, allows the unused portion of an asset balance to be rolled over to the next period. When selected, configure the rollover balance consumption sequence.
Rollover Balance Consumption Sequence Specifies the order in which balances are consumed. Options are:
  • empty — No value.
  • Rollover First — The rollover balance is charged first.
  • Current Period First — (Default) The balance from the current period is used completely before the rollover balance is consumed.
Note: When the rollover balances are to be charged, the rollover balance from the oldest period is used first.
Notifies on Creation Sets whether a notification is sent when the balance or meter is created in a subscriber's wallet. To send a creation notification, select On Creation from the list.
Expiration Notification Profile (Optional) Indicates when to send notifications for the expiry of balances in the wallet for balances that use this balance template. If this option is not selected, MATRIXX Engine does not generate notifications when balances in the wallet that use this balance template expire.

Sets a notification profile that determines when and how often balance expiration notifications are sent. A notification profile can be configured to send notifications at different times (for example, immediately and an hour after the initial balance expiration).

If the balance instance is periodic, a notification is triggered when the instance expires and when each individual entry in the instance expires.

For more information about expiration notification profiles, see the discussion about notification profiles in MATRIXX Pricing and Rating.

Notify on Last Balance Instance Expiration (Optional) If an expiration notification profile was selected for this balance template, this option specifies that the balance expiry notification is generated only for the last expiring balance for the balance template. The end time of all balances that use this balance template are considered to get the last expiring balance. Balances that are valid forever are not considered in the calculations to get the last expiring balance.

If deselected, MATRIXX Engine generates notifications when any balance instance that uses this balance template expires.

If this balance-expiry option is enabled at both the balance class and balance template level, multiple notifications are sent for both the last expiring balance for the class and for the last expiring balance for the template.

Recurring Failure Notification Profile Defines when notifications are sent after recurring processing fails. A notification profile can be configured to send notifications at different times. For example, immediately and an hour after the initial recurring failure for the period. For more information about recurring processing failure, see the discussion about recurring processing failure in MATRIXX Pricing and Rating.
Recurring Advance Notification Profile Defines when notifications are sent before recurring processing is executed with the estimated recurring charge. For more information about recurring processing, see the discussion about recurring processing in MATRIXX Pricing and Rating.
