Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
Balance Configuration
Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.
Balances
A balance is a quantity of a currency or asset that is used for tracking and charging for service usage and service-related operations, such as recurring cycle fees.
Balance Template Properties
Balances templates have properties that define how the balance instances behave after being added to a wallet. Additionally, they have properties that determine how the balance information is displayed in MATRIXX Backoffice Customer Tool. Both property types are described here.
Balance Template AQM Reservations Properties
AQM reservation properties specify how balance reservations are handled during quota authorization for balances impacted by services that use the Balance Accuracy Feedback (BAF) feature, and, optionally, the Adaptive Quota Management (AQM) feature.

- About My MATRIXX Help
  My MATRIXX Help provides information about My MATRIXX, a web application that offers a central location for creating pricing plans and configuring MATRIXX charging and rating behaviors. My MATRIXX is intended for pricing administrators who are responsible for creating and maintaining pricing plans and for IT administrators or developers who configure the rating and charging behavior of the online charging system.

  The following information describes the My MATRIXX interface.
- Using My MATRIXX
  You use My MATRIXX to validate and compile the pricing configuration file, compile pricing, and set up and manage user roles and domains; create and manage catalog items and catalogs, manage eligibility features and rules, and manage the Normalizers interface; create and manage balances, pricing, offers and bundles, general components, and application-related components; and policies for charging and rating. Use General Configuration to create components that support pricing items and charging functionality such as announcements pricing components, attribute definitions, denial codes, products, decision tables, Final Unit Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, general ledger transaction types, notification profiles, normalizer templates, and subscriber information query actions, profiles, and generators.

- Catalog Configuration
  Catalog Configuration contains the Catalog Items interface that you use to create, change, or delete catalog items; the Eligibility interface to manage eligibility features and rules to determine whether a subscriber, group, or device is eligible for a catalog item; and the Normalizers interface you use to edit normalizers.

  Charging Configuration has the interfaces you use to create and manage balance, pricing, product offer and bundle, general, and application-related components.
  - Balance Configuration
    Balance Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage price components including aggregation selectors, balances and balance classes, balance state update profiles and components, meters, and rollover profiles and components.
    - When to Use a Balance or a Balance Class
      In a pricing plan, in the balance to impact, the quantity definition in a rating formula, and the balance examined by a balance normalizer, you have the option to select a balance or a balance class that gets used during rating.
    - Aggregation Selectors
      An aggregation selector defines an aggregation grouping using matrices.
    - Balance Classes
      Balance classes specify whether a balance is an asset or currency and define how balance template properties display.
    - Balance State Update
      A balance state update component implements the business logic that decides which balance state update profile to select during rating for a given set of normalization parameters. A balance state update profile is a catalog component that defines how to modify the end time of a balance instance in a subscription or group wallet when the additional assets or currencies are purchased for that balance instance.
    - Balances
      A balance is a quantity of a currency or asset that is used for tracking and charging for service usage and service-related operations, such as recurring cycle fees.
      - Main Balances
        A main balance is an actual currency balance in a subscription or group wallet.
      - Private Balances
        A private balance restricts balance usage to a specific subscriber, group, or device on a subscription product offer.
      - Debt Balances
        A debt balance tracks the debt associated with currency charges on a product offer. Debt balance is a simple, postpaid, locked, actual currency balance with unlimited credit that tracks the debt associated with currency charges in a product offer or bundle. Both the purchase and recurring debt balance must be simple balances.
      - Impacting Balances by Consumption Priority
        Assign a consumption priority to an asset or currency balance template during pricing plan creation. Assigning a balance consumption priority to balance templates enables service providers to control which balances are charged first. The default balance consumption priority is 0.
      - Create a Balance Template
        You can create a standard or periodic balance template and designate it as being prepaid or postpaid. The balance can be for an asset or currency. When a subscriber purchases a product offer referencing the balance template, a balance instance is added to the subscriber's wallet, which can be impacted during subscriber usage.
      - Configuring a Balance Template
        After a balance template is created, in Edit Balance, configure the balance properties.
      - Change a Balance Template
        You can change any property of a balance template, except the balance ID. You can only remove an attribute from the balance if it is not in use. All existing balance instances that reference the template will be updated with the changes.
      - Copy a Balance Template
        You can create a copy of a balance template.
      - Move a Balance Template
        You can move a balance template from one balance class to a different balance class that has the same unit type.
      - Delete a Balance Template
        Deleting a balance template removes it from the pricing plan.

        General Balance Properties
        General balance properties include balance names, balance precision, balance creation, balance expiration, and so forth, as listed in bal_mgmt/r_ui_balance_general.html#reference_6D8EB3710A90439088805EF2603D765E__table_26EE00D4FB5D4F808E89AB40C2CC7565.
        Balance Template Start/End Properties
        Start and end properties listed in bal_mgmt/r_ui_balance_start_end.html#reference_6D8EB3710A90439088805EF2603D765E__table_26EE00D4FB5D4F808E89AB40C2CC7565 define the balance start and end dates, how balances can be adjusted, and the default end date extension value.
        Periodic Balance Properties
        Creates a meter comprised of periodic entries that are created on a recurring cyclical basis and valid only for that time period.
        Balance Template Thresholds Properties
        Thresholds properties determine the type of threshold, whether it recurs, and whether it sends a notification when a threshold is reached. A credit limit threshold must be defined for all balances. During upgrade, My MATRIXX generates and persists a credit limit threshold for any balance that does not already have one (with a value of infinity, which means there is no spending limit).
        Balance Template Filters Properties
        Filters determine whether a balance is valid for consumption. Filters can also be associated with notifications to determine whether a particular notification is generated or not. If needed, you can have multiple filter tables per filter where a SKIP result moves to the next matrix.         Balance Template Rollover and Notifications Properties
        In Rollover and Notifications, you can define when a balance rollover is allowed, how the rollover balance is consumed, and when balance notifications are generated.
        Balance Template Forfeiture and Credit Floor Adjust Properties
        Forfeiture and credit floor adjust properties listed in bal_mgmt/r_ui_balance_forfeiture.html#reference_6D8EB3710A90439088805EF2603D765E__table_26EE00D4FB5D4F808E89AB40C2CC7565 configure a balance to forfeit a balance amount and determine how a credit floor is adjusted when a balance is impacted.
        Balance Template Tax/GST Properties
        Use the Tax/GST tab to define how taxes are applied to balance expiration forfeiture. You specify either a list of tax classes or a tax selector.
        Balance Template AQM Reservations Properties
        AQM reservation properties specify how balance reservations are handled during quota authorization for balances impacted by services that use the Balance Accuracy Feedback (BAF) feature, and, optionally, the Adaptive Quota Management (AQM) feature.
        Balance Template Attributes Properties
        You can define an attribute by entering its name, data type, and value. For example, if you enter an attribute on a balance named Display with a type Boolean and a value true, the meter is flagged with meta-data indicating it should be displayed in MATRIXX Backoffice Customer Tool.
        Balance Template Balance Tags Properties
        A balance template can be associated with balance tags. Balances can then be referred to from the subset of templates that share a specified tag. For more information about balance tags, see the discussion about balance tags in MATRIXX Pricing and Rating.
        Dynamic Balance Properties
        Dynamic balance properties include the instance relative start and end time, key fields, and aggregation selectors, as listed in bal_mgmt/r_ui_balance_dynamic.html#reference_bxr_cf2_gxb__table_26EE00D4FB5D4F808E89AB40C2CC7565.
        Balance Template Custom Fields Properties
        Use the Custom Fields tab to configure any predefined custom fields in the balance template.
    - Balance Tags
      Balance tags are a subset of a balance class. Pricing Admin associate balance templates with balance tags, and then refer to balances from the subset of templates that share a specified tag.
    - Dynamic Balances and Meters
      Balance and meter instances can be created dynamically in response to network usage events. A dynamic balance can be simple or periodic, and can represent a quantity of a currency or an asset. A dynamic meter can track charge amount, discount amount, or usage quantity.
    - Meters
      A meter is a non-financial counter that tracks service usage, charges to a balance, balance discounts, balance amounts, or the overdraft amount of a set of balances.
    - Rollovers
      Balance rollover occurs at the end of a period when the unused portion of a prepaid, periodic asset balance, for example, voice minutes or data, is made available for charging usage in subsequent periods. Balance rollovers are handled the same for individual product offers and offers in bundles; all available non-supplemental product offers are evaluated in order of priority until an applicable rollover component is found.
  - Pricing Configuration
    Pricing Configuration contains interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include decision tables, finance and service contracts, filters, price components including charges, discounts, grants, refunds, and forfeitures, and rate tags.
  - Offer and Bundle Configuration
    Offer and Bundle Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage pricing and rating components including bundles, offer priority generators, product offers, and product service types and attributes.
  - Normalizer Configuration
    Normalizer Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage normalizers, normalizer templates, and normalizer value lists.
  - Tax Configuration
    Tax Configuration contains interfaces you use to create and manage tax classes and selectors, and US taxation. You must have the Manage Tax domain user role to enable this menu.
  - General Configuration
    General Configuration has interfaces you use to create pricing plan components. Pricing plan components managed through this interface include announcements, product and system attributes and definitions, currency codes for rate tables, denial codes, field definitions for use in normalizers and rate tables, Diameter Final-Unit-Indication (FUI) profiles and generators, General Ledger (GL) transaction types and info generators, grace period profiles, languages, notification profiles, parameter definitions, pre/post-rating profiles and generators, SH Repository data, Subscriber Information Query components, tax classes for offer categorization, usage quota profiles and components, purge profiles, virtual fields, and usage triggers.
  - Application Configuration
    Application Configuration components are used by My MATRIXX for creating pricing plan items and are used by MATRIXX Charging Application and MATRIXX Policy Application for charging and rating.

Balance Template AQM Reservations Properties

AQM reservation properties specify how balance reservations are handled during quota authorization for balances impacted by services that use the Balance Accuracy Feedback (BAF) feature, and, optionally, the Adaptive Quota Management (AQM) feature.

Property	Description
Max Reservation Time (seconds)	The maximum number of seconds for which a reservation is valid. If AQM is enabled, this value is used to shape the quota size and validity time.
Max Per Context Reserved Amount	The maximum amount of this balance, periodic balance entry, or meter, which can be reserved by any one service context per session. This allows providers to allow allocating a maximum percentage of the remaining asset to a session.
Max Total Reserved Amount	The maximum amount that can be reserved against this balance or meter by all service contexts in a session. This value acts as a credit limit that rejects any usage that exceeds this total reserved amount.
Adaptive Threshold Scale Factor	Used with AQM and the Balance Threshold Feedback (BTF) feature, which calculates the available quantity until the next threshold is reached. The scale factor controls the distance before a threshold at which the quota drops from default authorization or reauthorization values to the minimum authorization or reauthorization values. For example, a value of 2 makes it appear that subscribers are two times closer to the threshold than they are, this causes AQM to start issuing smaller quotas twice as early as it otherwise would, and it does so more gradually because it has more time to slow down.
